Some questions on Sentient

[BradKML]

1. If it is an MCP, is it compatible with IDEs like Cursor, Windsurf, RooCode/Cline etc.?
2. Will this be compatible with OpenHands? https://github.com/All-Hands-AI/OpenHands
3. Since this tool is autonomous, can this tool scrape the internet for whole blogs or scientific papers?
4. What MCP tools can this hook up to? Maybe web search or archival services?
5. Does it have "deep research", sequential thinking, socratic reasoning, or other thinking patterns built in?\
6. Can it handle/synergize task management? https://github.com/eyaltoledano/claude-task-master

Sorry this sat unanswered for so long, @BradKML. Sentient has since been rebuilt as v3, a desktop app that runs on your own computer, so here are answers for v3:

1. IDEs (Cursor, Windsurf, Cline...): Sentient is not an MCP server for IDEs. It is a personal assistant app that uses MCP servers. Exposing Sentient's memory and tasks as an MCP server is a fair idea; feel free to open a feature request.
2. OpenHands: no direct integration. They solve different problems: OpenHands is a coding agent, Sentient is a personal assistant with memory, long-running tasks and proactivity. Sentient can run code in a sandbox for its own tasks.
3. Reading the web: yes. It can search (DuckDuckGo by default), read pages, and drive your own Edge or Chrome for sites that need a real browser. Long tasks can work through many pages in the background.
4. MCP tools: any MCP server over stdio or HTTP, added from the Integrations screen. Its tools show up for the assistant with the same ask-before-acting safety rules as built-in tools.
5. Thinking patterns: there is no fixed "deep research" mode. Tasks plan first and then run step by step, helper agents can work on parts in parallel, and you can save repeatable approaches as skills that Sentient reuses and improves.
6. Task management: built in. One-off, recurring, triggered and long-running tasks, plus a board and a calendar.
