Does not appear to compile correctly with current versions of VS 2022...

Given the last "release" of this was back in 2018, is this a maintained project still? I've tried a Git clone of the current files, and can't seem to get it to compile on VS 2022 17.8 (which has Universal support) or 17.13 (which I guess Universal support is deprecated). Currently, one of the unit tests is failing on a missing "WexTestClass.h" file, and three of the projects aren't loading due to using outdated profiles.

Any guidance from the community or developers would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for that solution. Still curious about the remaining issues; no immediate pressure to resolve, but I suspect others may run into the same snafu I did aside from the unit tests.

Builds for me in VS2022 at Debug | x64:

and the PR gate is passing which builds various flavors.

Likely you need to sync the submodules. See:

Thanks! I got the driver kit loaded, that matches the SDK (version 22621) I have installed. Two issues related to the original error remain...

1. This message, repeated multiple times in the build attempt. I'm on VS 2022 17.12 LTSC; I even installed the separate Build Tools, which does have Universal components missing in regular VS, but it only has (v142) for AMD64; (v143) for ARM64 though.

Project 'WebSocket' could not be loaded because it's missing install components. To fix this launch Visual Studio installer with the following selections:
C++ (v143) Universal Windows Platform tools

2. This message, which persists even after re-targeting the solution.

Error MSB8036 The Windows SDK version 10.0.19041.0 was not found. Install the required version of Windows SDK or change the SDK version in the project property pages or by right-clicking the solution and selecting "Retarget solution"

I have the 10.0.19041.0 sdk installed. just open visual studio installer, go to indiviual components and check the box at the bottom

Jason Sandlin (@jasonsandlin) well, adding that in worked; I didn't install the corresponding older Driver Kit, though. I got nine artifacts from the build process.

I'd love to convert this convo into a installation document. I support some other engineers where I work; reproducable steps would be useful. Still a bit unclear "why" this works, even with all the warnings and such.
