Using the supplied precompiled runtime

The installer includes a private patched rpicam-apps runtime:

Divimath-SeekerHD/runtime/apps/rpicam-hello
Divimath-SeekerHD/runtime/preview/drm-preview.so
Divimath-SeekerHD/runtime/librpicam_app.so.1.12.0

At installation it is copied to:

/opt/divimath/rpicam/

The camera service uses:

/opt/divimath/rpicam/apps/rpicam-hello
--preview-libs /opt/divimath/rpicam/preview
--preview-backend drm

This approach avoids replacing the distribution's copy of rpicam-apps and makes the SeekerHD DRM behavior self-contained.

When to use the precompiled runtime

Use it when:

  • you are using the Raspberry Pi OS/libcamera environment validated with the package;
  • you want the simplest installation;
  • you do not need other rpicam-apps source modifications.

When to rebuild instead

Rebuild from source when:

  • an OS update changes libcamera ABI;
  • ldd reports missing/incompatible libcamera libraries;
  • you need additional rpicam-apps modifications;
  • you want to use a newer upstream rpicam-apps release.

Check dependencies with:

ldd /opt/divimath/rpicam/apps/rpicam-hello
ldd /opt/divimath/rpicam/preview/drm-preview.so

No dependency should report not found.
