Is this abandoned?

Last commit was 2 years as of writing. This lib is very useful and would be even more so with some of the PRs out there, some typing extensions, etc.

What's going on with this lib? Who is maintaining it? Last opened issue was in 2024.

Edit - I'd even be happy to become a contributor/maintainer if we could actually get some changes in.

My understanding is that this is not actively maintained, but there is very little change needed as well. I think this is a question for @jcarbaugh

@claytonjroberts any chance you're at PyCon? I consider this package active but very stable and very poorly maintained (due to me). PyCon is usually my chance to update projects but would love to chat about adding maintainers.
