Bumps github.com/Azure/unbounded from v0.16.0 to v0.18.0. Only golang.org/x modules move with it, and unbounded's minimum Go is still 1.26.10.

For the agent, v0.18.0 brings:

It builds without code changes. One follows from #967: the move to the host root installs the helper with EnsureNSpawnLifecycleHelperFor, rather than EnsureNSpawnLifecycleHelper. That way the move doesn't put a helper back on a host whose config supplies the hooks' commands. Until a config does, it installs the helper as before.

Testing

  • Go tests, also with the race detector on pkg/daemon and pkg/config, and golangci-lint pass.
  • The script tests and the docs checks pass.
  • E2E runs in CI.

v0.18.0 brings Azure/unbounded#962, which stops preflight warning that
docker-active's and kubelet-active's service state "could not be
determined" on every host where the service isn't running, and #967,
which lets the agent supply the nspawn lifecycle hooks' commands
instead of the helper unbounded copies onto the host. Nothing here
supplies them yet. It also has NVIDIA nspawn nodes use the CDI runtime
(#975). No code changes are needed.
…n it

The move to the host root installs the nspawn lifecycle helper before it
rewrites the active machine's hooks. With unbounded v0.18.0 a machine's
config can supply the hooks' commands, and then its hooks don't run the
helper. EnsureNSpawnLifecycleHelperFor installs it only for a machine
whose hooks run it, as EnsureNSpawnConfig expects, so the move doesn't
put a helper back on a host whose config supplies the commands. Until
one does, nothing changes.

🟡 Changes recommended

Preflight still uses strict NVIDIA resolution, bypassing diagnostic reports and ignored-check handling when GPU readiness fails.

What changed in this PR

Updates the agent to unbounded v0.18.0 for preflight diagnostics, NVIDIA handling, and configurable nspawn lifecycle hooks, preparing for the containerized ACL agent work in #370.

Changes:

  • Bumps unbounded and related golang.org/x dependencies.
  • Refreshes dependency checksums.
  • Makes host-root migration respect configured lifecycle commands when installing the helper.
File Description
pkg/daemon/hostroot_move.go Uses the config-aware lifecycle helper installer and explains its behavior.
go.sum Updates checksums for the dependency upgrade.
go.mod Upgrades unbounded to v0.18.0 and related indirect dependencies.
