There was a problem hiding this comment.
easybuilders/easybuild-easyconfigs#24388 is merged and included in EasyBuild v5.2.0, so there's no need at all for from-commit?

The workflow job cannot pass until the rebuilds in EESSI/software-layer#1780 are deployed, and a CI job per hook fix is more than this change needs.
The generic UCX builds have AVX in nearly every library because of `--enable-optimizations`. Rebuild every UCX version for `x86_64/generic` and `aarch64/generic` in 2023.06, 2025.06 and 2026.06 once the hook that drops the option for generic targets has landed. See EESSI#1778.
…nged The pins for UCX 1.13.1, 1.14.1, 1.15.0, 1.16.0 and 1.20.0 point at files that are identical in easybuild-easyconfigs-v5.4.0, so the release is used. UCX 1.18.0 and 1.19.0 keep their pins: the released files add UCX-1.18.0_fix-glibc-2.43-compile-failure.patch, which the current installations were not built with. The rewrite comes from `eb-stack stack from-commit --rewrite --easyconfigs-repo "$EASYCONFIGS"` at the repository root, with EASYCONFIGS set to an easybuild-easyconfigs clone that has the release tags. That command takes four `--easystack` arguments, one per rebuild file: two `20261011-eb-5.4.0-UCX-*generic-without-optimizations.yml` files under 2023.06/rebuilds and one each under 2025.06/rebuilds and 2026.06/rebuilds.

Rebuilds of the generic UCX installs for #1778.
Every
x86_64/genericUCX install needs AVX, because--enable-optimizationslets UCX's configure add-mavxwhen the build machine has it.The hook in EESSI/software-layer-scripts#320 drops the option for generic targets.
These easystacks rebuild every deployed UCX version with it:
from-commitd438adc(as in the last UCX rebuild)d438adcd438adc33e016a(the easyconfig that is deployed now)f9fe742(same)1.13.1 keeps its own file, as with the earlier 2022b rebuilds.
Easystacks can't restrict a rebuild to a CPU target, so this has to be built with
arch:x86_64/genericandarch:aarch64/genericonly, as was done for the LAMMPS generic rebuild in #788.The
aarch64/genericinstalls pass the audit as they are; rebuilding them keeps the two generic targets consistent and is cheap, but they can be dropped if we'd rather not. This should only be built after the hook PR is merged.
I checked that every pinned commit has the easyconfig, and dry runs of those easyconfigs with the new hooks give a
./configureline without--enable-optimizationson both generic targets.UCX-CUDA isn't in here, since the hook can't fix it yet (its easyblock adds the option itself).
