The install steps have only been run on fresh GitHub runners, never downloaded in a browser, so nobody has seen what SmartScreen, Smart App Control or Gatekeeper actually do to a strypt download (ADR-0053).
Download a release binary in your browser on Windows or macOS, follow the README install steps, and report every prompt the OS showed and what you clicked, using the It worked (or didn't) on my machine form. No Rust needed. Please don't turn off a security setting to get it running; say where you stopped instead.
