Thank you for choosing to use LaTeX File Template. If you find any bugs or want some feature not currently included, then my contact information can be found on my GitHub page.
This template was designed to create a structured starting point for academics (especially those studying mathematics or computer science) to create professional, well-formatted documents that follow traditional dissertation guidelines.
This repository contains the actual template, documentation files (linked below), and their supporting build files, demonstrating the capabilities of the template.
- Reusable LaTeX document template.
- Isolated formatting files, making usage simpler.
- Supporting documentation and build files.
- Version history and clear changelogs.
When beginning this project, I set out to simplify the process of starting a new LaTeX paper by setting up most of the formatting as a template. Rather than configuring document structure and supporting files from scratch, users can begin with an established template and focus on their paper's content.
Development of the LaTeX File Template is centered around keeping the template simple, reusable, and easy to maintain.
With this in mind, all releases are accompanied by clear changelogs that outline which files have changed, and what new features have been added/deprecated features removed. Similarly, most updates only target _templateFormatting.tex, as to not impact any content on existing documents.
Contributions and improvements are welcome. When submitting a pull request, please try to provide a clear description of the problem being addressed and the changes made. Contributors should keep changes focused and maintain the existing organisation and conventions of the repository wherever possible.
To use this template, simply download the The-Template folder, rename template.tex to the name of your desired output pdf, and begin editing the files, as per the documentation (linked above).
