Summary
Develops Coherence Without Uniformity / Contextual Coherence as a substantial, source-aware inquiry into shared protections and locally responsive, participatory, interoperable, revisable rules. It distinguishes common protections from uniform procedures, addresses the Wiggle stop-sign illustration without deriving a safety or current-law conclusion from it, and examines polycentric governance, unequal capacity, capture, externalities, stable standards, feedback, rollback, and lasting harms.
The design companion makes rule and amendment authority explicit and proposes four directional comparisons with competent baselines, reversal conditions, and adverse outcomes. All comparisons remain unexecuted.
Why this belongs here
This is cross-disciplinary normative synthesis and research routing. The canonical home is
research/contextual-coherence/, not a project implementation, universal governance mandate, or validated model. Detailed organizational-learning treatment remains in its existing companion. Coherent Design PR #56 remains a distinct, review-pending inquiry, linked at its inspected source revision.Canonical placement and boundaries
Eight files: three new inquiry documents; focused links in the research index, Human(e) Design, and Learning to revise the rules; the Idea Trail graph and its regenerated index. Public-safe standalone prose; no personal conversation archive, identifiers, private-project substance, third-party media, or copied essays.
The source ledger separates normative commitments, inspected source passages, historical reporting, agency synthesis, interpretation, and hypotheses. It records incomplete underlying-study appraisal, limited adaptive-management source access, and historical article date/version limits. No novelty finding, local traffic recommendation, participant study, or general effectiveness claim.
Verification
These are documentation checks, not empirical validation, author endorsement, or a reviewed release. Website source and runtime are unchanged.
Documentation coherence
Updated the nearest research index, relevant conceptual/research entry points, and existing trail metadata. No new top-level structure, duplicate framework, roadmap, or central authority layer.
Open questions
Author/domain review, operational definitions, legal/engineering assessment before any transport application, underlying-study appraisal, participation/capture evidence, and comparative added value remain open. PRs #45, #50, #55, and #56 also touch research navigation; preserve their independent entries when resolving overlaps. Generated trail links target canonical main locations and become available there after merge.
Checklist
AI-assisted; no merge, deployment, simulation execution, or institutional adoption.
