Jumping to the first debug print skips a configured print tag at column zero of the first line. searchpos() starts at {1, 0} but excludes the current position, so it can jump to a later match instead.

Include the current position for the first-item search and add a regression covering a tag at the beginning of line one.

Validation: isolated Neovim full suite (nvim --headless --clean -u tests/run.lua, the Makefile test command): 170 passed, 0 failures/errors. pre-commit run --all-files: all 8 hooks passed. Original/fixed synthetic-buffer probe returned line 3/line 1 respectively. No user editor configuration or buffers used.
