Site redesign with accessibility fixes - #65
Conversation
Change baseurl to match unique repo name.
Brings in upstream's non-design changes since the fork point (540dd50): Jekyll 4.4.1 / Ruby 3.4 Gemfile and lockfile, README.md build instructions, and the Jekyll build check workflow.
Jekyll 4's {% link %} tag prepends site.baseurl itself, so the
{{ site.baseurl }}{% link ... %} pattern rendered
/arks26.github.io/arks26.github.io/... after the upstream upgrade.
relative_url renders the same under Jekyll 3 (GitHub Pages) and 4.
The mirrored accessibility-fixes branch carried the arks26 fork's baseurl (/arks26.github.io); set it back to this repo's path.
The four check scripts were audit tooling from the accessibility work and are not runnable as committed (no package.json; their setup doc lives in the gitignored docs/ directory). Keep update_organization_map.py, which regenerates _data/organization_map.json, and document it in the README.

Wow, that's really an impressive amount of work that's gone into making this and the other ascii art diagrams accessible!

The site-wide banner config looks correct, but I don't see the banner on the rendered site?
The num_ark_orgs is actually now 1900.

The banner will be added/visible on merge to main. I'll update the num_ark_orgs.

Glad to see this underway.

Really an amazing amount of work! Thank you to Adam and all the CDL staff that made this happen! The only thing I'd like to see before going live is the site-wide banner (see other comment). When that's done, feel free to merge (approved in advance).
