Summary

  • Subagent no longer imports TUI. Worker liveness (agentLaneIsLive, fleetProgress, stall clocks) lives in src/subagent/agent-progress.ts; TUI chrome and the runtime bridge import that domain module. Agents-panel linger stays presentation-only in chrome-state.
  • The MCP late-bind tool runner, registered-name resolver, and execution watchdog live in src/agent/ so orchestrator and exec dispatch do not load them through TUI.
  • Exec still imports TUI for approval delivery, correlation acceptance, and agent-source sync. Plugins still import the TUI command registry. Agent tools still import validateView.

Verification

  • rg 'from ["'\''].*tui/' src/subagent is empty (production and tests)
  • bun run typecheck passes
  • Targeted tests on the moved modules pass (481 pass, 0 fail)
  • bun run check passes (lint, typecheck, dead-exports, build, guarded suite: 8384 pass, 0 fail)

Fixes CL-7824

Worker liveness and the dynamic tool runner belong on the host-agnostic
side so a published coding-agent package does not pull TUI.
