Summary

Clarify which Razor component renders the default landing UI when the newly created Blazor Web App first runs, and show beginners exactly where to edit that initial page in the default template.

Suggested Fixes

Instructions for Copilot: Copilot should only fix suggestions with a checkmark and do not make any updates for unchecked suggestions.

Note

Suggestions are generated by AI and they should be reviewed by human before assigning it to Copilot. Please uncheck the ones you don't want Copilot to work on. Then assign this issue to Agent (GitHub Copilot). When assigning it to Copilot you can enter additional instructions under "Optional Prompt" dialog.

  • In Part 1, immediately after the first “run the app” / “launch the app” step (or the first screenshot of the default UI), add a short callout that maps what the user sees in the browser to the corresponding Razor page/component file(s) in the default template. Explicitly name the default landing page (for example, Components/Pages/Home.razor) and briefly explain that this is the file to edit to change the initial screen, and that routing determines which page loads at /. Include example wording like:

Where does the first page come from?
When you run the app, the default landing page you see is rendered by Components/Pages/Home.razor (the default template’s Home page). To change the initial UI, open Components/Pages/Home.razor and edit its markup.

The URL path / maps to the Home page via the routing configuration (see Components/Routes.razor).

(Adjust the file paths/names to match the template used in this article/version.)

@gewarren ... This one, too, We have to be very careful. A lot of work was done on the tutorial, and it has Dan's blessing in the form that it's in. I'll examine the tutorial and take a look at the suggestions here to see if they make sense.

The verbatim that prompted this issue is:

The article does not explicitly mention home.razor or talk about how that is what a user sees when the app launches. 6/13/2026, 8:09:03 PM
