nix: add Emacs setup hook and meta.platforms so emacsPackagesFor works - #589
Thank you for this project — Neomacs has become my daily Emacs, and shipping a
Nix flake from day one made the switch from GNU Emacs on NixOS painless.
One gap though: Emacs Lisp packages built with emacsPackagesFor neomacs fail,
because the package is missing two attributes that nixpkgs' Emacs package
builder expects from every editor package.
build-support/emacs/generic.nix sets meta.platforms = emacs.meta.platforms
on every emacs-lisp package it builds. Since this package declares no platforms, evaluating the whole package set aborts with attribute 'platforms' missing.
The same builder injects the editor into every package's nativeBuildInputs and relies on the editor's setup hook to export EMACSLOADPATH. GNU Emacs ships a setup-hook.sh for exactly this; Neomacs
ships none, so byte-compiling a package with packageRequires never sees
its dependencies' share/emacs/site-lisp and dies on Cannot open load file.
postInstall already creates $out/share/emacs/site-lisp/site-start.el for
this very ecosystem, so this PR just finishes the job: nix/setup-hook.sh is pkgs/applications/editors/emacs/setup-hook.sh from nixpkgs copied verbatim,
and meta.platforms mirrors the systems list in flake.nix (Linux and
macOS, matching the wgpu/WPE backends).
Verified with an equivalent local overrideAttrs that adds exactly these two
attributes: emacsPackagesFor then builds evil, corfu and friends, and
they load at startup under programs.emacs on NixOS (x86_64-linux). Without
them the same set fails as described above.
Happy to adjust - e.g. drop the native-lisp branch of the hook until native
compilation lands here.
Byte-compilation of Emacs Lisp packages through nixpkgs' emacsPackagesFor expects the editor package to carry a setup hook that exports EMACSLOADPATH. Without it, the site-lisp directories of a package's dependencies are absent from the build environment and compilation dies on "Cannot open load file". Bash script is copied from nixpkgs pkgs/applications/editors/emacs/setup-hook.sh.
nixpkgs' generic Emacs package builder (build-support/emacs/generic.nix)
injects the editor into every emacs-lisp package's nativeBuildInputs
and relies on the editor's setup hook to export EMACSLOADPATH, and
copies `meta.platforms` from the editor into each package. A missing
`platforms` aborts evaluation of the whole package set with
"attribute 'platforms' missing".
`platforms` mirrors the systems list in flake.nix: the wgpu/WPE
backends only build on Linux and macOS.

Walkthrough
The Nix package derivation registers a setup hook that updates Emacs load-path variables. It also lists the supported platforms as x86_64-linux, aarch64-linux, and aarch64-darwin.
The hook prepends existing site-Lisp and native-Lisp directories to their environment variables when they are not already present. It adds the native-Lisp path only when addEmacsNativeLoadPath is nonempty. The package derivation registers the hook and lists the supported platforms.
No actionable merge-blocking issue is established. The platform metadata and setup hook are ready for normal checks.

flake-parts only generates package attributes for the systems in
flake.nix, so the extra unix targets were metadata for platforms
that cannot be built anyway.
This PR makes the Neomacs Nix package compatible with nixpkgs' emacsPackagesFor builder so that Emacs Lisp packages can be byte-compiled against Neomacs. It adds the two attributes that build-support/emacs/generic.nix expects from every editor package: a setup hook that exports EMACSLOADPATH/EMACSNATIVELOADPATH, and meta.platforms (whose absence otherwise aborts evaluation of the whole package set). This complements the existing postInstall logic that already creates $out/share/emacs/site-lisp/site-start.el.
Changes:
Add nix/setup-hook.sh, a verbatim copy of nixpkgs' Emacs setup-hook.sh, and wire it in via setupHook in package.nix.
Add meta.platforms to the package, mirroring the systems list in flake.nix (Linux + aarch64-darwin).

Description
nix/setup-hook.sh
New setup hook that prepends site-lisp/native-lisp dirs to the Emacs load-path env vars when the package is used as a build input.
nix/package.nix
Registers the setup hook (setupHook) and declares meta.platforms so emacsPackagesFor neomacs evaluates and builds.
The setup-hook.sh content matches nixpkgs verbatim and is correct, and the platforms values exactly match flake.nix's systems. The single concern is that the platforms list is written inline, which the repo's nixfmt --check CI gate will reject.

🟢 Approval recommended
The additive Nix metadata exactly mirrors flake.nix's systems list and the setup hook is the standard nixpkgs emacs hook, with no impact on the main build and no lint/format violations.
