Termio is a local Windows SSH client that brings terminal sessions, SFTP file management, and remote system status into one desktop app.
- Multiple SSH terminal tabs, including multiple connections to the same saved session.
- Session folders and a configurable default session.
- Password or SSH private-key authentication, including encrypted-key passphrases.
- SFTP browsing, upload, download, batch transfer, drag-and-drop, and common file operations.
- Remote system status for CPU, memory, network, disk, and supported GPUs.
- Dark and light themes with dark mode enabled by default.
- Local sessions and settings, with remembered passwords and key passphrases in the system credential store.
Extract the Windows unpacked package into a writable directory and run Termio.exe. To run from source, follow Development.
Create a session with the address and credentials, then double-click it to connect. Each double-click opens a new connection tab. Verify the host-key fingerprint on first connection. The sidebar switches between sessions, SFTP, and system status; Settings is at the lower left.
For key authentication, select SSH private key in the session dialog and choose an OpenSSH/PEM private-key file. Leave the passphrase empty for an unencrypted key. Paths such as ~/.ssh/id_ed25519 are supported, and the terminal and SFTP use the same authentication settings.
- Appearance: theme, interface text size, terminal font, cursor, sidebar, and hidden files.
- Input: auto-copy selection, right-click paste, multi-line paste confirmation, and English input-method switching.
- Runtime: default download directory and single-instance behavior.
Development data is stored in the project directory. Packaged data is stored next to Termio.exe:
data/app.db
data/user-data/window-state.json
Data from earlier versions is moved into data/ automatically on first launch.
Keep data/ when upgrading and close Termio before backing it up. Remembered passwords and key passphrases are stored separately in the operating system credential store; copying data/ does not transfer them or the private-key files.
Use Windows with Node.js 24 or later. Building the Windows file-drag helper requires the .NET Framework 4.x C# compiler (csc.exe) under the Windows directory.
