[FWN.com] Empty chapter: The Mirror Legacy — CH.318: Devouring Life #2699
I looked into this and could not reproduce an empty chapter with the current plugin.
Chapter 318 loads in full.novel/the-mirror-legacy/chapter-318 ("Chapter 318: Devouring Life") exists on freewebnovel.com. Running the FWN.com plugin (2.2.6, master e4e4db5) against the live site returned the whole chapter: about 11.6 KB of HTML, 41 paragraphs, ending at the last paragraph. The novel page lists 1,790 chapters, and CH.318 is in the list once, with the correct path.
How a blank chapter can happen. freewebnovel.com sits behind Cloudflare. If a request gets Cloudflare's "Just a moment..." check page (HTTP 403) instead of the chapter, the ReadNovelFull template does not check the response status. It finds no chapter text in the page and returns an empty string, which the app shows as "Empty chapter". I confirmed this by feeding a saved Cloudflare check page into parseChapter, which returned an empty string, while a saved real chapter page returned the full text. I could not tell whether the reporter's request hit a Cloudflare check; that is the most likely cause, not something I observed.
Headless playground run. I ran the plugin playground headless. Cloudflare held the headless browser on its Turnstile check, so the playground could not load this site, and the Parse Novel screenshot below shows the empty result it produced. The chapter evidence above comes from a different run, using a browser that passed the check. This screenshot shows the blocked state, not a working load.
