…riants Rotation matrices, closed-form disorientation angles and seeded measured orientations with known nearest variant. Done: the generator runs clean with python3 -I and its truth is self-checked. Next: the Mac session adds the upstream pins. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_014Wwax7V3YZCErT4fN6kTPy

What and why
tools/beta-variants/planted.py(numpy only) builds the 12 orientation-relationship variants of β'' (Mg5Si6, C2/m) in Al as rotation matrices, with closed-form pairwise disorientation angles (only 0/90/120/180°), the OR's reduced angle arctan(2/3) = 33.690068°, and 48 seeded measured orientations with a known nearest variant (DiffractoKit task 35). No orix was run; the Mac pin script adds orix numbers at atol 1e-4. Docs/tools only, no Sources.Open point for Paul: the OR (a ∥ [3 2 0]Al, b ∥ [001]Al, c ∥ [1 -3 0]Al) is derived from the lattice parameters (105.25° vs β = 105.3°), not copied from Andersen 1998. Check it against the paper or the study's own OR; swapping it means editing
