… entry CITATION.cff's version line carries the x-release-please-version marker and is listed in extra-files, so each Release PR bumps it with the manifest. The 0.2.1 heading gets its date (2026-10-15, the release commit). Done: the last open parts of #14 that need no decision. Next: date-released in CITATION still needs a step in the release workflow (.github, #12). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
release-please's generic updater bumps the CITATION version but not date-released. A step after it sets date-released to the run's day on the Release PR's branch and pushes the change when it differs. Done: CITATION version and date both follow the Release PR. Next: Paul merges. Fixes #14
Finishes what #26, #25 and #30 left of #14.
CITATION.cff: theversionline carries# x-release-please-versionandrelease-please-config.jsonlists it inextra-files, so every Release PR bumps it with the manifest..github/workflows/release-please.yml: a step after release-please setsdate-releasedto the run's day on the Release PR's branch and pushes when it changed (release-please has no date updater). It runs before the CI dispatch, so the dispatched CI sees the dated file.CHANGELOG.md:## 0.2.1gets its date,(2026-10-15); every heading now has one.Already done before: README for 0.11.0, badges, arm64 sentence (#26); DocC catalogues for every product,
.spi.yml(#26); tifffile and Pint licences inLicenses/(#26); ORCID TODO gone (#26); one SPDX id,GPL-3.0-only(#30). The Keep-a-Changelog rewrite is superseded by release-please, which writes its own format; the CI tag-check regex already accepts release-please's headings.Tests: workflow YAML parses; the
sedexpression was run on a copy ofCITATION.cffand rewrote onlydate-released. The new step first runs live on the next push tomainthat updates the Release PR.origin/mainmerged in; the earlier redtestjob (a time-zone pin) is green onmain.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
