test(core): capture more docusaurus serve edge cases - #12910
Capture more docusaurus serve edge cases, found by probing the request handler after the recent serve fixes. The tests capture the current behavior. The known bugs get TODO fix comments, like the existing edge case tests, to be fixed in follow-up PRs.
New request paths, in the snapshots of all 6 baseUrl/trailingSlash combinations:
Folders with a dot: /docs/2.x/index, /docs/2.x/index.html, /docs/2.x?query=1 and an encoded dot /docs/2%2Ex. This is the setup of meta/docusaurus#11112 (/de/1.0.0/index.html), and ?query=1 returns 404 with serve-handler 6.1.7.
A file with a dot: /docs/1.x.html.
A null byte: /%00.
New edge case tests:
Asset with a trailing slash: /base/assets/css/styles.css/ answers 404, but Windows serves the file because it ignores the trailing slash of file paths. It's a separate test, so that the snapshots stay the same on all platforms. See meta/docusaurus#6282.
Backslash open redirect attempt: /\example.com/file.html stays on this host. Browsers read \ as / in a Location header. It's a separate test because snapshots print \ as /.
TODO fix: null bytes answer 500 (serve-handler's lstat throws), while malformed percent-encodings answer 400.
TODO fix: .. segments that reach the fake root: /../__docusaurus_root__/file.html redirects to /file, while other .. segments going above the root answer 400. The redirect stays on this host.
TODO fix: baseUrl with non-ASCII characters: req.url is percent-encoded, so it never starts with the baseUrl:
/café/ redirects to itself in a loop.
/文档/ crashes the server: ERR_INVALID_CHAR, because a Location header can't contain characters outside of Latin-1.
serveRequest() now accepts the asIs request option, like describeServing().
The 6 main snapshots now have 51 lines, above the 50-line limit of the vitest/no-large-snapshots lint rule. That's a warning, not an error.
