WalkthroughThe Required list no longer includes the Export exit tests quest. The export-failure planning document is deleted. The load observation in the auth-serve signals document no longer links the results to the export-failure issue; it still records that each test timed out and passed alone. Keep the unresolved failed-export flake open
The cited reason for closing this quest does not resolve the tracked failure: #5561 only adapted the already-existing paused-clock Follower test to the new export constructor, while this deleted section explicitly records that repeated load passes did not identify the historical real-process timeout's failed bound or root cause. Removing the quest therefore loses the sole tracker for a flake involving subprocess startup, relay connection, catalog reading, and process exit; keep it open until that failure is reproduced and explained.

You're right that #5561 didn't resolve this. It only adapted the existing Follower test (from #5147), so I've removed that claim from the PR. The maintainer chose to abandon the quest as unreproducible, not resolved. Since it was seen on 2026-10-13, both tests pass alone and under 40 bounded CPU workers, so the quest's required first step (reproduce and record the failed bound and process) can't be completed. The real-process tests keep their bounds, so a recurrence fails loudly and gets a fresh quest with that evidence instead of an open tracker with nothing to act on. I've retitled the PR and rewritten the description to match.

Summary

The failed-export timeout was seen twice, on 2026-10-13 (#5458, #5481), at a load average near 47. Since then,
an_export_failure_with_the_broadcast_up_exits_without_lingeringanda_drop_exits_one_once_the_linger_expirespass alone and under 40 bounded CPU workers, so the quest's first step ("reproduce and record the failed bound") cannot be completed. The real-process exit-code tests stay in place with their bounds unchanged, so a recurrence fails loudly and gets a fresh quest with that evidence.Validation
