Problem

This draft gated the TS recovery quest on #5713, the fix that makes moq export ts start on a whole group. #5713 has since merged, and its quest file (quest/m1/test-flakes-2/ts-video-content.md), which this draft listed under Required, is gone. The gate is moot and its link would fail quest check.

Changes

quest/m1/ts-reliability/recovery.md only:

  • Drop the prerequisite and the reproduction note. fix(ts): start an export on a whole group and count every drop #5713's paused-clock regressions (a_start_group_cut_short_starts_at_the_next, a_join_drops_its_group_whole) already cover the cold-join case the diagnostic reproduced, so no new regression is needed here.
  • Record what the recovery tests build on: the whole-group start and the trimmed, gaps and dropped counters on ts::stats::Export. The fault schedules should cross-check those counters, so a hole the oracle accepts is one the export reported.

The quest itself stays open and unblocked; merging this releases its claim branch.

Decisions

Picked by the iterating agent (no prompt available):

  1. What to do with the draft once fix(ts): start an export on a whole group and count every drop #5713 merged.
    • ✅ (a) Turn it into a small plan refresh that records the fix(ts): start an export on a whole group and count every drop #5713 baseline. It keeps the useful finding without a dead prerequisite.
    • (b) Implement the [L] recovery quest in this PR. Too large for an iteration pass.
    • (c) Close the PR and delete the claim branch. Loses the counter cross-check guidance; closing is the maintainer's call.

Impact

  • Public API: none.
  • Wire: none.

Blocked on the existing source acquisition fix in #5713. Its paused-clock regression reproduces the admission failure on main: PTS 0, 3600, 7200, 10800 and 14400 escape before the next whole group at 54000. The final counter assertions added by #5713 were omitted only because those fields are absent on main. Production source was restored after the diagnostic; strict just check and quest validation pass for this prerequisite-only draft. Recommend reviewing this dependency and resuming the existing recovery quest after its source prerequisite merges.

#5713 merged with the cold-join regressions this draft gated on, so drop
the prerequisite (its quest is gone) and record what the recovery tests
reuse instead.

Merging at 187c85a63.

  • Change: quest/m1/ts-reliability/recovery.md drops the fix(ts): start an export on a whole group and count every drop #5713 prerequisite (merged, its quest deleted), records the whole-group start and the trimmed/gaps/dropped counters the recovery tests should cross-check, and links audio-lead.md.
  • Decision: repurpose the draft as a plan refresh rather than implement the [L] quest here or close it. The maintainer chose to merge.
  • Checks: CI green; Codex reviewed this head with no findings.
  • Follow-ups: the recovery quest is unblocked and ready; audio-lead.md stays open.
