AGENTS.md and CONTRIBUTING.md point breaking changes at the package MIGRATE.md files, active quests stop sending entries to upgrade.md, and the migrate quest is deleted now that its goal holds. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Quest outcome: Checks: Open decisions (recommendation first):

The generated moq-c package ships its own MIGRATE.md, later release transition sections and snippet compile-checks go to the migrate audit. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

The guides describe breaking API and behavior changes, with before-and-after examples in several packages. Contributor instructions and project plans direct migration entries to affected package guides. The central upgrade page links to package guides and retains cross-package wire and deployment guidance. Priority: ➖ Normal Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to

Move #5694's native-codec upgrade note into the moq-ffi, Python, Go, Swift, Kotlin, and C++ MIGRATE.md files, point the new refresh quests at MIGRATE.md, and send generated UniFFI package users to moq-ffi's guide. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Add a minimal snippet to each prose-only entry that has code, flags, or config to change; pure runtime behavior changes keep prose only. Backfill moq-auth 0.1 -> 0.2, qualify which guide raw UniFFI users follow, link the binary guides from doc/bin, and apply the review's wording fixes. | ### `moq export archive` refuses untimed tracks | ||
|
|
||
| Recording a track with no timestamps fails with `Untimed`, so an archive over moq-lite before 05 or moq-transport drafts 14 to 16 fails instead of recording arrival times. |
There was a problem hiding this comment.
Update the archive entry after untimed support returned
For CLI builds containing #5720, this now states the opposite of the current behavior: moq export archive records ordinary untimed tracks one group per span, and only DVR mode with --retention refuses them (rs/moq-archive/src/writer.rs checks for untimed tracks only when retention is set). Because no newer moq-cli entry supersedes this historical entry, readers of the newest-first guide will incorrectly expect all untimed recordings to fail; add a #5720 entry above it explaining the DVR exception.

Problem
Breaking-change guidance lived in one long
doc/setup/upgrade.md, mixing every package's API renames with wire and rollout notes. A downstream user upgrading one package had to scan everything, binding users got moq-ffi names instead of their own language, and nothing told a breaking PR where its entry goes.Approach
