- Around line 20-24: Update the quest wording to scope the remaining proof to
all four C++ targets and the two OBS package targets: the Release Cpp job builds
and checks each C++ archive and packages the OBS plugin only for macOS and
Windows. Keep the OBS settings/session-report parity proof separate until a
workflow runs it, and refer to the relevant Release Cpp and Nightly workflow
symbols without claiming parity runs on every host.

Codex: retiring moq-uring on moq-clock dropped the only owner of its unmeasured [vdso] and relay CPU acceptance; an [XS] m2 perf quest owns it. CodeRabbit: Release Cpp packages the OBS plugin only on macOS and Windows, and the settings and session-report tests run in Nightly's separate Linux OBS lane, so the C++ package remainder says so. Merging per (Written by Claude Opus 5.5) |
Summary
A checkpoint of the recurring tree audit. Since moq-dev/moq#5980, several PRs merged from a quest's own branch without deleting or trimming the quest. Each was checked against
main(9b90cdd56); the branch has since mergedmainat6f0ff0b6a, which touched none of these quests.Retired (Goal met on
main):quest/m1/time/uring.md: moq-dev/moq#5926 made the io_uring worker a moq-clock backend, replacedtimer::Heap, moved the named tests and the stalled-handshake test onto a manual clock, and added the clippy ratchet.clock_gettimeper turn fell from 44.7 to 1.05.perfwas unavailable there, so the[vdso]share and relay CPU were not measured. A new[XS]quest/m2/perf/uring-clock-profile.mdowns that profile, linked from the perf epic. #3122 is closed.quest/m1/ietf-max-age.md: moq-dev/moq#5993 landed the Setup Option, the SUBSCRIBE/REQUEST_UPDATE parameter, the timestamp draft text, Rust andjs/net, and the bufferbloat drill. #5881 is closed.quest/m1/auth/request-race.md: moq-dev/moq#5992 landed the presenter-side wait, replay-before-publish, the draft and doc text, and regression tests, with nothing left open.request-update.md(in flight elsewhere) only has its two links repointed at the PR; its prose is untouched.quest/m1/quic/coverage/sim-workloads.mdand its epicquest/m1/quic/coverage/README.md: moq-dev/moq#5989 covers every Goal invariant, and its 4,096-case sweep passed. It was the epic's last child; the benchmarks, fuzzing, characterization tests, seeded simulation, and coverage report all landed earlier. The baseline comparison test(quic): exercise cancellation and migration in seeded workloads #5989 mentions is how each later rewrite uses the net, not the net's own work.Trimmed:
quest/m1/track-status-race.mdbecomes[XS] Report relays that refuse TRACK_STATUS: moq-dev/moq#5991 landed the fix and deferred only the upstream reports. #5954 is closed.quest/m1/cpp-package-check.md([S]to[XS]): moq-dev/moq#6006 landed the archive checks and the OBS local-archive path, but its four-host nightly proof was still pending, and the quest still described the landed work. The last Nightly ran before fix(cpp): check release archives and OBS during dry runs #6006 merged. The quest now records only the remaining proof:Release Cppchecks all four archives and packages OBS for macOS and Windows, and Nightly's separate LinuxOBSlane passes the settings and session-report tests.quest/m1/time/crates.md: dropped the stale "what remains in moq-auth is its JWT checks" sentence. moq-dev/moq#5987 migrated them and ratcheted moq-auth, moq-rtmp, and moq-archive.Already accurate, unchanged:
browser-rename-check.md(moq-dev/moq#5994; its 2026-10-19 evidence records the browser-runtime blocker) andlite06-max-sequence.md(moq-dev/moq#6002; it records the refusal-boundary decision). Every other quest-branch PR merged since #5980 deleted its quest, exceptm0/release-22, which moq-dev/moq#6042 handles. Why quests are left behind
No quest skill tells the PR that finishes a quest to delete it.
quest guideonly says "Finished quests are deleted", as a description of the model.quest skill startsays to implement and open a PR.iterate, ready, merge, andcompletenever check the quest file, andmergeenables auto-merge without looking at it. That left two failure modes:/quest-completesent through: test(quic): exercise cancellation and migration in seeded workloads #5989 and fix(net): register subscriptions before exposing track demand #5991 listed a residual in the PR body but not in the quest, and fix(cpp): check release archives and OBS during dry runs #6006's quest still described landed work.Proposed fix, upstream in
kixelated/quest(planned there separately), then a flake bump. This PR edits no skills.startanditerate: "The PR that completes a quest deletes its file and every reference, like/quest-delete. A PR that leaves work rewrites the quest to just that remainder."merge(andready): "Before enabling auto-merge on a PR from a quest branch, check that the PR deletes its quest or that the quest's Plan records what remains. If not, fix it on the branch."quest check --branch <head>(or a CI step) fails when aquest/<path>branch leavesquest/<path>.mdunchanged. The branch already names the path.Decisions
Settled by the maintainer on 2026-10-20:
quest check --branchguard) is being planned separately inkixelated/quest. No change to this PR.Review
