Summary

Adds quest/m1/test-flakes-2/gst-sibling-resume.md [M] as a new child of the test-flakes-2 epic. It covers a_sibling_restart_idles_a_reference_naming_the_old_epoch (rs/moq-gst/src/source/imp.rs:4175), which failed once under load during the moq-dev/moq#6464 re-queue:

3 never reached a pad: [Pad("video_0"), Segment("video_0", 46000), Buffer("video_0", 1)]

After the second Restart, the old instance wrote tag 3 every 50 ms for 10 s and none of it reached the pad. That points to a missed resume rather than slow polling.

No existing quest or open PR covers this test.

Decisions

How should the quest be framed?

  • ✅ Liveness bug first: reproduce it, fix the missed resume, then make the test wait on events.
  • Test timing only.

Separate quest, or fold into gst-pinned-replay (same Recorder fixture)?

  • ✅ A separate child, cross-linked under Related.
  • Fold into gst-pinned-replay.

Checks

quest check passes (560 documents).

Public API: none. Wire: none.

Walkthrough

The change adds documentation about an intermittent moq-gst sibling-restart test failure. It describes the missing pad output, proposes a manual-clock reproduction and investigation, and suggests waiting for announce and pad events instead of polling with sleeps. The README Required list now links to this document.
