Summary

Plans two follow-ups from the 2026-11-02 /quest-complete session:

Decisions

Decided 2026-11-02 (maintainer, /quest-plan):

  • kix enqueues ready PRs:
    • ✅ Plan in m0
    • Plan in m1
    • Drop
  • quest wait after a merge into the branch:
    • ✅ Plan in m1
    • Plan in m0
    • Drop
  • quest merge --land on bases with no gate and no queue arms auto-merge, so a later push by a writer lands with it:

Dropped without a quest, because each is already done or planned:

  • Bump moq-dev/moq's quest input to include moq-dev/quest#306. moq's pin, 7a191e6, already includes it.
  • setup-pr.md's enrollment-form wording. It was already amended on 2026-11-01: Enable opens a short form with only the optional question.

Review

mechanical fix by codex / Codex: Merged base, replaced the deleted land-review quest link with its implemented source, and removed the completed prerequisite; passed bun run build, bun run --silent quest check, bun run check, and bun run test --maxWorkers 2 --pool threads (900 passed, 2 skipped). (head 816b4af)

  • Reviewer: Codex (quest review --base origin/main), gpt-6.1-sol, medium, session 01a19a31-dc07-7db3-958e-4b8177a6ee6a.
  • Round 1 on head 0807fd03b76a3f0d6f3ca290ce1a2246533271f8: no findings.
  • Round 2 on head 1fa1248c14df88972d004c27859288f5bad87580, after fixing CodeRabbit's two findings on wait-merge-heads.md (export BRANCH_UPDATES; keep push reporting separate): no findings.

Walkthrough

The pull request adds two plans to the required-work documentation. One describes enqueueing ready pull requests into merge queues. The other describes resolving a pull request head SHA that reached its branch through a merge. These changes document planned behavior; they do not implement it.

Merge Risk: Low · previous review 0807f

The documentation should be corrected before implementation so the follow-up does not introduce an uncompilable reuse or mislabel merge activity as a push.

Pre-merge checks: Passed 4
Check name Status Explanation
Title check Passed The title clearly and concisely identifies both planned changes: kix enqueueing ready PRs and quest wait handling merges.
Linked Issues check Passed Check skipped because no linked issues were found for this pull request.
Out of Scope Changes check Passed Check skipped because no linked issues were found for this pull request.
Description check Passed The pull request description clearly describes both documentation plans added by the changeset: Kix enqueue behavior and merge-derived head resolution for quest wait.

SHA resolution from push reporting: use the merge-inclusive BRANCH_UPDATES list

separate for building historical push entries so pr_merge and merge_queue_merge
are not reported as type "pushed".

codex / Codex land fixer note:

The PR changes only four quest documents and adds no checks; there is no diff evidence attributing the failure to this PR. No branch changes were made. The failure log reports five-second timeouts in two existing review tests: a logged-out error names the profile its status check read and a login the API rejects fails as logged out, whatever the status check said. A local bun run test reproduced the latter timeout, with 899 tests passing and two skipped. bun run test --maxWorkers=1 then passed all 900 tests, with two skipped. The build, TypeScript, formatting, and both document checks also passed. Please follow up on the review-test timeout sensitivity under concurrent execution.

codex / Codex land fixer: This maintainer pick already used its mechanical fi·x attempt. Run /quest-iterate to diagnose the repeated failure, then pick it again. Recommendation: run /quest-iterate before picking it again.

codex
The one-worker retry is still processing the long landing-test file. Its final result will determine whether I can requeue PR #387 with a timeout-flake diagnosis.

The retry has exceeded the default run’s total time and still has no final result. I’m checking the process state before deciding whether validation is blocked.

The one-worker run passed all 900 tests, with two skipped. I’ll record PR #387 for requeue unchanged, naming both review-test timeouts for follow-up. No mechanical fix is needed.
