Problem

Follow-ups decided with the maintainer on 2026-11-03 had no quests:

Approach

  • ts-rs-rename [S]: rename rt to rs, as its own PR.
  • ts-string-capacity becomes rs.String [L]: String, Box<str> and &str as a runtime type holding std's capacity. Measure a JS-string-backed and a UTF-8-backed wrapper and bring the numbers back as a decision.
  • ts-slice-object becomes rs.Slice [L]: slices and arrays of other values as array, start and length. It absorbs ts-slice-of-one, and both waits are dropped.
  • ffi-python-methods [M]: native methods on generated classes, about 25 ns per call. The GIL release is kept.
  • ffi-python-loop-lookup [S]: skip perf(ffi): resume a Python wake on the loop's own thread without the socket pair #564's running-loop lookup unless something waits, about 14 ns per in-loop call.

Primitives, Option, tuples and closures stay native. The wrapper quests run in parallel with the rename.

Impact

  • None: quests only.

Alternatives

  • Wrap every type, primitives included: rejected, since it costs an allocation per number for no semantics gained.

Follow-ups

  • None.
