feat(studio): Health grades each source's own tracks - #25
Finishes quest/m0/health-sources.md: the Health panel grades each source's own tracks the way it grades the program's.
Changes
moq_scene::publish::Publish::stats() reports what every live source listing's tracks wrote, keyed by rendition ID. Each Listing registers its nested catalog under its claim and removes it on drop. Only the listing that holds each name counts, so a replaced source's tracks drop out with its catalog entry even while it is still stopping, and the stats match the Tracks table. The broadcast names every track uniquely, so one flat map holds them all.
health::Sampler grades the source tracks as a second publisher report beside the program's. The Tracks table lists the program's tracks first, then each source's video and audio renditions by source name, with sent rate, frame rate, viewers reporting, lowest received, worst grade, and latency. Viewer reports already arrive per rendition through .echo, so they reuse the existing per-track path.
Problems name the source, for example "1 of 2 viewers are stalling on source camera's video avc3.42c01f 1280x720."
The Health panel gets a Source column that names each source once, beside its first track, so many sources stay one row each. The program's tracks come first with the cell blank, so no source name can pass for them.
README: the Tracks and Uplink bullets now say this.
Choices made without asking
Uplink media and headroom stay program-only. Source tracks encode whether or not anyone pulls them, and the relay uploads only what someone pulls. Counting their written bytes would make the headroom grade report a congested uplink whenever the program is watched and the sources are not. The cost is that headroom undercounts while viewers do pull source tracks. Fixing that needs per-track demand from the encode producer, which moq-video does not expose.
Stills are not graded. Image and color sources publish one binary group and viewers do not report on binary tracks, so a row for them would be blank.
Grouping uses a Source column, not collapsing sections. One grid keeps the columns aligned across groups.
Guests are not graded here. A guest is a broadcast source: its tracks are published by the guest under the room, not listed among the studio's own source tracks (publishes in rs/moq-scene/src/source.rs excludes broadcasts), and viewers report on them to the guest's broadcast, not the studio's. A guest that stalls on program is already graded as a stalled broadcast source.
Failover (feat(studio): publish to a failover relay under the same epoch #19). Source tracks are graded from their own previous report each interval. Unlike the program's, that report carries no transport readings, so it is not reset when the serving relay changes.
Suggested follow-ups
Count source tracks toward uplink media while something pulls them. This needs per-track demand exposed upstream in moq-video's encode producer.
Review
Codex (codex harness), gpt-6.1-sol, medium effort, round 2 on head f3f9022 against origin/main aa0145b: no findings. Round 1 on 0cef5b4 also found none.
Online findings on bdbfb42 (CodeRabbit), both fixed in f3f9022:
health.rs:409, a replaced source's renditions were counted but had no row. Fixed narrowly: Publish::stats() counts only the listing that holds each name. Rows for the replaced listing were declined, since the window lasts only until the old driver sees its feed dropped (reply).
ui.rs:1635, a source named program looked like the program's group. Fixed: the program's Source cell is blank (reply).
Local checks: just ci passed on f3f9022 (lint, quest check, 120 tests).
The sampler grades the sources' tracks beside the program's, from what
each source listing wrote and what viewers report on them, grouped by
source in the Tracks table. Uplink media stays the program's, since
source tracks encode whether or not anyone pulls them.

Health grades source tracks
feat(studio): Health grades each source's own tracks
Nov 3, 2026
The publisher now aggregates rendition statistics from open source listings. Health reports grade program and source renditions separately, identify source tracks, and include source media rates and frame rates. The Health table displays source names. Documentation clarifies track ordering, uplink scope, and latency, and removes the source-track grading requirement and planning document.
Merge Risk: Low · up to bdbfb
The change is mergeable with bounded follow-up: source replacement can temporarily hide track details, and naming a source program makes its Health label ambiguous. Neither issue changes media delivery.

Explanation
The description states that the PR finishes the health-sources quest by grading each source's own tracks in the Health panel, the same way the program's tracks are graded. It lists concrete changes: Publish::stats() aggregation, Sampler grading of source tracks, a Source column in the Tracks table, problem messages naming the source, and README updates. These match the raw summary's file-level changes, so the description is specific and on-topic.

No actionable bugs found in the source-track statistics and grading changes. Reusing the per-rendition viewer path and separating source statistics from the program uplink calculation are sensible choices; the documented demand-accounting limitation remains.
Static GitHub review only; I did not independently run the health, source-publishing, or viewer-feedback tests.
Resolve the Health conflicts with failover (#19): source tracks are graded
beside the program's, which takes the serving relay's transport, and the
README's Uplink bullet keeps both the relays wording and the program-only
media.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The base merge integrates source grading with failover: only the program report resets its transport baseline on a serving-relay change, while source counters keep their own prior report. Guest tracks remain excluded as described because they belong to the guest broadcast. I found no additional actionable issue in this integration; the documented source-demand uplink limitation remains.
Verification: static GitHub inspection only; I did not run the health, failover, source or guest tests.

Count pulled source tracks as uplink demand.
The uplink gate reads Local.watched, which is set only from the program video's demand. When a viewer pulls only a source, watched stays false. uplink then reports loss and headroom as Unknown, even though the relay uploads that source on the same connection. Sources publish into the program's broadcast, and every relay connection publishes that origin. The stated reason for the gate, that the relay pulls nothing otherwise, does not hold for source pulls.
Give the uplink gate its own demand signal that includes source pulls. Do not reuse watched. It also controls whether the program encoder runs and pauses, so reusing it would change program encoding when only a source is pulled. Source-track demand needs new plumbing from the source tracks into the engine stats before the gate can read it.

Review comment at @rs/moq-studio/src/health.rs around lines 276 - 286:
Update the uplink demand gate used by `uplink` so it considers source-track
pulls as well as program-video demand, without reusing `Local.watched`, which
also controls program encoding. Trace source-track demand into the engine stats
and provide an independent signal for the gate; preserve the existing
program-encoding behavior when only a source is pulled.
Assert source sent and framerate through Sampler::sample.
source_tracks_are_graded_by_source passes a prebuilt Graded value to tracks. It does not call Sampler::sample, so the copy of publisher.sources.stats() into the sampled snapshot does not run in that test. The sampler test at rs/moq-studio/src/health.rs:1354-1411 asserts only the program audio row and the viewer latency. Removing the source-stats copy leaves the current tests passing.
Add an assertion to the sampler test. After a source writes frames, a source rendition row must report the expected sent and framerate values.

Extend the Sampler::sample test to assert that, after a source writes frames,
its source rendition row reports the expected sent and framerate values. Keep
the existing program audio and viewer latency assertions, and verify these
fields through the sampled result rather than a prebuilt Graded value passed

… Source cell blank
A replaced source still stopping no longer counts tracks the studio
catalog has dropped, so stats and the Tracks table agree. The program's
group names no source, so a source called `program` cannot pass for it.

The follow-up addresses the two review concerns: source statistics now follow the current name claim rather than retaining a replaced listing's counters, and the program's Source cells are blank so a source named program is distinguishable. The source-only demand limitation noted in the earlier review remains. I found no new actionable issue in this update.
Verification: static GitHub-only inspection; I did not run the source replacement, health or UI tests.
Brings in Health per source track (#25) and live scene and canvas
edits (#16). The Preview row keeps Interact beside the fade time set
beside it, and the preview draws through its texture id.

Brings in #25 (Health grades each source's own tracks) and #16 (scene
editing and live canvas resize). A live canvas change now replaces the
program video track under a running recording, so the program's file
goes on in a numbered one, as a source's does. Without a relay, a
canvas the machine cannot encode no longer leaves the studio without a
recorder: the program records its audio, says why the video stopped,
and a new canvas tries again.
