Summary

Plans the follow-ups from moq-dev/studio#61, #62, and #65, and records what /quest-unblock settled with the maintainer on 2026-11-06.

New quests:

Edits:

  • signing becomes Apple only: Windows ships unsigned for now. It records the Apple material in the hang.live vault and waits on the maintainer renewing the Apple Developer membership. packaging and the m0 README now say Windows ships unsigned.
  • app-macos: T3 Code now holds the camera, microphone, and screen-recording grants on the maintainer's Mac, so an agent can run it unattended.
  • cef-headless: the Mesa trial runs before nixos2 switches to Windows, and its wait has cleared: kixelated/nixos#31 logs nixos2 into GNOME at boot, and GNOME Shell now runs there on the Intel GPU.
  • The seven pin-* quests move their prose "Check:" into ## Waiting items naming moq-dev/moq, so quest waiting lists them. Every check still holds: each upstream quest file is still on moq's main, with no open PR, and capture-linux still lists the restore token.

Reviewed head bb7c7d32b39a54b1a849d4eefbe5f44db0364d75.

No actionable findings in the 20 documentation-only changes. Checked the new quest dependencies, retained upstream completion conditions, Apple-only signing consistency, and referenced overlay code; all 43 repository-relative links in the changed documents resolve at this head. No changes requested from this review.

Limits: static GitHub review only. I did not run quest check or just ci, or independently verify the machine, signing, and DNS/Pages state described in the plans. The head's Check workflow was still running when inspected.

Automated review by review (OpenAI)

Reviewed head 2afb531d237cbe8a8c79e59e283a17dda97a0c9a, including the sole change since my prior review: clearing the Mesa trial's wait in quest/m0/cef-headless.md.

No actionable findings. The linked nixos#31 records that the configuration was applied and a Wayland session was observed, so its still-open PR does not contradict clearing the wait. The requirement to finish the Mesa trial before switching to Windows remains intact. No changes requested.

Limits: GitHub-only document review; I did not independently inspect nixos2 or run the browser suite, quest check, or just ci. The current head's Check workflow is still running.

Explain Change →

Walkthrough

The quest documents update agent host setup, macOS capture validation, release packaging and signing requirements, and upstream dependency wait conditions. They also record the join page’s deployment status and add keypad hotkey and overlay release plans.

Merge Risk: Moderate · up to bb7c7

Correct the Windows setup procedure and narrow its Mesa prerequisite before merging; otherwise the documented workflow can fail or remain blocked unnecessarily. The signing and keypad plans also need bounded corrections. These are documentation and planning defects, not current runtime regressions.

Pre-merge checks: Passed 4

Check name Status Explanation
Title check Passed The title identifies several main quest changes.
Linked Issues check Passed Check skipped because no linked issues were found for this pull request.
Out of Scope Changes check Passed Check skipped because no linked issues were found for this pull request.
Description check Passed The description covers the new quests and signing changes. However, it says the join-page quest is deleted and HTTPS is complete, while the changes leave both pending.

Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

The plan assumes the existing notary API key can create a Developer ID profile, but it does not establish that the key has the required provisioning permissions.

After renewal, the agent cannot create the profile and the signing prerequisite remains blocked.

This can occur when: The existing key can authenticate to notarization but lacks access to certificates, identifiers, or profiles.

Qualify the Windows installer claim.

A Windows policy can prevent users from bypassing the SmartScreen warning, so the unsigned installer may not run. Note this limitation in the plan.

Check certificate expiry before completing the quest.

If membership is renewed after 2027-02-01 and the .p12 contains the recorded certificate, the plan can store an expired identity and delete the quest. Apple requires a new certificate to sign new releases. Check the .p12 expiry and replace an expired identity before completing the quest.

Match the key file to the SSH login account.

If ssh nixos2 selects a non-administrator account, Windows OpenSSH normally checks that account’s authorized_keys file instead. The documented key setup can therefore leave key authentication unavailable. Specify the login account and install the key in the corresponding file.
