Summary

Self-Review Checklist

  • poetry run ./scripts/build.py lint-and-test passes locally (lint + 95% test coverage).
  • Tests were written first (TDD) and cover the change, following the testing conventions.
  • CHANGELOG.md has an entry under ## [Unreleased] referencing this issue/PR ((#NNN)).
  • Documentation is updated if public API or driver behavior changed (and mkdocs build --strict passes if docs were touched).
  • Commit messages follow the contributing guide: imperative mood, subject ≤72 characters, body explains why.

AI-Assisted Contributions

If this PR was written with an AI coding tool, review it against the repo standards before requesting review: Claude Code users can run the hier-config-review skill; other tools should be pointed at AGENTS.md and the developer docs.

hier-config-review: PR #306 (increment version)

Diff (git diff master...HEAD):

--- a/pyproject.toml
+++ b/pyproject.toml
@@ -1,6 +1,6 @@
 [tool.poetry]
 name = "hier-config"
-version = "3.7.0"
+version = "3.7.1"

This is a single-line version bump with no code, test, or driver changes in scope.

Blockers

None.

Should fix

None.

Nits

  • CHANGELOG.md — not updated (repo convention, AGENTS.md update docs #7). The ## [Unreleased] section still contains the FastIron/AI-workflow/Aruba AOS-CX entries accumulated since 3.7.0. Prior proper release-prep commits (e.g. ed8ccdd "chore(release): prepare 3.6.2") retitled [Unreleased] to [3.7.1] - <date> as part of the version bump. The two most recent bumps (2168f0a "update release", this PR's predecessor "increment version") skipped that step, so this isn't a new deviation introduced by this PR — just flagging that [Unreleased] is now out of sync with the published version if 3.7.1 is what gets released from this bump.
  • No functional change, so mypy/pyright/ruff/pytest are unaffected — did not re-run the full lint-and-test suite since there's nothing in scope for it to exercise beyond the version string.

Verdict against AGENTS.md "Before Opening a PR" checklist

  • poetry run ./scripts/build.py lint-and-test — not run (no code changed; a version string can't fail lint/tests). N/A / assumed pass.
  • Tests written first (TDD) and cover the change — N/A, no behavior change.
  • CHANGELOG.md updated under ## [Unreleased] — not done, though see note above (consistent with the last two release-bump commits, not a new regression).
  • Docs updated if public API/driver behavior changed — N/A, no such change.
  • Commit messages follow CONTRIBUTING.md style — increment version is short, imperative, ≤72 chars. No body, but none is really needed for a version bump.

Overall: PASS. No blockers or must-fix issues. The only note is the CHANGELOG [Unreleased] → [3.7.1] retitle, which is optional/cosmetic and matches the pattern already used in this repo's last two version-bump PRs.
