The shell script is inconvenient to install and has no tests. A Go command matches the existing git wrapper, setup, update, and sync behavior and can be verified directly.
Zsh completion currently has to be copied from `_roam` by hand. Generating it from the installed command keeps the file next to the binary's users and allows an explicit overwrite.
Hand-rolled flag parsing duplicated help and option handling for every command. Cobra owns the command tree so git passthrough stays the default, and Fang styles the help generate zsh already documented.
The Go rewrite had no automated checks on PRs. Pinning tools in mise lets local and GitHub Actions run the same format, lint, test, secret, and vulnerability gate. govulncheck currently reports GO-2026-5970 through golang.org/x/text v0.24.0, so that indirect dependency is updated to the fixed release.
