Lets the setup CLI that the Linux AppImage uses also run on macOS, so Wheel Wizard can drive it the same way. - Download the macOS nodtool release asset instead of the Linux one. - Build through local-build-macos.command, which takes the same flags. - Record the binary inside the published .app as the product executable. - Skip freedesktop .desktop entries, which macOS has no use for. - Write local-build.json from the macOS build script, matching local-build.sh, so Wheel Wizard can tell whether Retro Rewind is current. - Ignore native-build-macos-<arch>/, which the old pattern did not match.
Wheel Wizard drives the setup CLI on Linux by downloading the AppImage from the release. Publish the macOS equivalent, WiiCompiled-Setup-macos.run, so it can do the same without the user installing Setup.pkg first. The .run is the Setup.pkg Resources plus the setup CLI for both architectures and a wiicompiled-setup entry point, behind a small shell header. --version answers without unpacking; anything else unpacks once per version into Application Support and runs the entry point from there. The entry point is the macOS counterpart of the AppImage's AppRun: apps launched from Finder only get /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin on PATH, so it passes every bundled tool to the CLI, syncs the packaged workspace, and checks for the Xcode Command Line Tools before an install. - build-setup-pkg.command takes --setup-arm64/--setup-x86_64 and --run-output. Setup.pkg itself is unchanged in content. - CI publishes the setup CLI self-contained, verifies the .run on both architectures and attaches it to the release. - Move setup.command's workspace sync into sync-workspace.command so both entry points share it and the same BuildWorkspace.

Setup entry point and workspace synchronization Launcher/macos/wiicompiled-setup.command, Launcher/macos/sync-workspace.command, Launcher/macos/setup.command |
The setup entry point checks the architecture and Xcode Command Line Tools, synchronizes the bundled workspace, and forwards arguments to the matching CLI. setup.command delegates workspace synchronization to sync-workspace.command. |
Build, validate, and publish setup artifacts Launcher/macos/build-setup-pkg.command, Launcher/macos/setup-run-header.sh, .github/workflows/package.yml, Launcher/WiiCompiled.Setup.Common/NodToolProvider.cs |
The package builder accepts arm64 and x86_64 setup CLIs and can produce a self-extracting .run. The workflow validates and publishes the .run alongside the .pkg. macOS asset selection maps supported architectures to matching assets. |

A truncated WiiCompiled-Setup-macos.run failed with tar's raw gzip error. Report that the download may be incomplete instead. This also covers a missing payload marker, since tail then fails the same pipeline.

Port upstream's mkw_sync_tree refresh into sync-workspace.command and switch write_build_record to mkw_sha256 now that build-cache.sh owns it.
Summary
This brings the setup CLI and Wheel Wizard flow from Linux to macOS, so Wheel Wizard users don't have to install the
.pkgby hand. The.pkgstays on the release for everyone else. The main problem is
PATH. Apps launched from Finder or the Dock get the bare systemPATH(/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin), so Wheel Wizard can't see Homebrew'scmake, ninja, ordotnet. TeamWheelWizard/WheelWizard#371 would cover some of this, but it has stalled, so I adapted its self-extracting.runapproach instead. It unpacks once per version rather than on every run, and it works on both Apple Silicon and Intel. This overlaps with #160, which hasn't moved since Sept 12. It takes a smaller approach to the same problem. It extends the existing setup CLI instead of starting a new project, and it doesn't change anything at runtime.
What changed
Setup CLI
NodToolProvidernow picks the rightnodtoolbinary for the architecture (-macos-arm64or-x86_64), builds go throughlocal-build-macos.command, product executables resolve to<Product>.app/Contents/MacOS/<Product>, and.desktopfile generation is skipped.local-build-macos.commandnow also writeslocal-build.json. Before this, Wheel Wizard couldn't tell Retro Rewind was current and kept showing "Update".The
.runasset and CIThe
.runfile is a small header followed by a gzipped tarball with the Setup App resources, setup CLIs for both architectures, and thewiicompiled-setupentry point. The header answers--versionwithout unpacking anything. The entry point checks for the Xcode Command Line Tools, syncs the workspace, and passes the bundledcmake, ninja, translator, andnodtoolto the setup CLI.package.ymlbuilds the.run, verifies it natively and under Rosetta, and attaches it to the release.Testing
I ran fresh installs with the setup CLI straight from the checkout, building base plus Retro Rewind, and confirmed the product states came out current. I also launched Wheel Wizard.app from Finder with the bundled entry point to make sure it works with only the system
PATH. For the download flow, I made a test release on my fork and checked release lookup, version checks, unpacking, and install.--versiondoesn't unpack, and runs after the first unpack start instantly. The Intel path works under Rosetta. The CI workflow only runs on tags, so it hasn't run in Actions yet; I ran its steps locally with the same pinned downloads.Known limitations
The
.runis about 277 MB because it carries both architectures and the full CMake app, Qt GUI included. Splitting per architecture and trimming CMake can go in a separate PR.Questions for @patchzyy
