Adds a --headless flag for --race/--race-cpu that runs with a hidden window, no sound and no dialogs, and makes boot races wait for shader compilation instead of skipping draws. Needs patchzyy/aurora-wiicompiled#5.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added a headless mode for boot races, starting Aurora hidden and silencing audio without changing the saved mute setting.
    • Headless mode requires a boot race and can be used with --race or --race-cpu.
    • In headless mode, fatal error popups and Discord presence are suppressed, and joystick background events are disabled.

Walkthrough

The runtime adds --headless, which requires a boot-race request. Headless startup silences audio, skips Discord presence, suppresses fatal popups, disables joystick background events, and hides the Aurora window. Boot-race startup also changes pipeline handling. The aurora-main subproject reference changes.

Changes: Headless boot-race startup

Layer / File(s) Summary
Audio silencing state
runtime/include/audio_backend.h, runtime/src/audio_backend.cpp
AudioBackend adds a silenced state. Effective gain is zero when the backend is muted or silenced.
Boot-race request detection
runtime/include/boot_race.h, runtime/src/hle/boot_race.cpp
BootRace::Requested() reports whether a course is set.
Headless startup behavior
aurora-main, runtime/src/main.cpp
RuntimeMain accepts --headless only with a boot race. In headless mode it silences audio, skips Discord presence, suppresses fatal popups, disables joystick background events, and starts Aurora hidden. For boot races, Aurora does not skip unready pipelines. The aurora-main subproject reference changes.

headless human-controlled races, including --headless --race, continue receiving
controller input while the window is hidden. Keep background joystick events
enabled for those races, restricting the headless-based disablement to
CPU-driven races if needed.
