fix: don't crash every request when auth_source_manager is None in the session - #10734
authenticate.login() set session['auth_source_manager'] = None before the OAuth2 redirect, even for a user who is already authenticated. Code throughout the app (before_request, get_logout_url, browser, user_management) subscripts that value for authenticated sessions. As a result, a logged-in user who submits the OAuth2 button again (for example from an old tab or a bookmarked /login) gets TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not subscriptable on every request, including /logout and /login, until the session expires.
Change
_login() resets auth_source_manager only when the user is not authenticated. An authenticated user keeps their current source until the new login succeeds; the OAuth2 callback and the internal login replace it as before.
The restart guard in before_request reads (session['auth_source_manager'] or {}).get('current_source'). A session that an older version already left with None is then treated as an unknown source and logged out when the in-memory key is gone, instead of crashing.
Testing
I mounted both patched files in the official dpage/pgadmin4:9.19.0 image (the code is identical on master) and ran the reproduction from #10733.
OAuth2 button while not logged in: 302 to the provider, as before.
Normal internal login: /browser/ and /browser/js/utils.js return 200.
OAuth2 button while logged in: /browser/ 200, /browser/js/utils.js 200, /favicon.ico 302. The user stays logged in until /logout, which then redirects /browser/ to /login. No traceback. Before the change, every one of these requests returned 500.
pycodestyle --config=.pycodestyle is clean on both files.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Server-mode logout checks now handle sessions with a missing or empty authentication source consistently. Authenticated sessions that meet the existing sign-out conditions continue to be logged out, while login and logout endpoints remain unaffected.
Authenticated users retain their current authentication source during an unsuccessful login attempt. A successful login updates the source to reflect the new authentication method.
No actionable comments were generated in the recent review.
Walkthrough
In server mode, _login preserves the authentication-source state for authenticated users. The before_request logout check handles a missing or falsey auth_source_manager value without subscripting it.

Summary
Preserve authenticated session state web/pgadmin/authenticate/__init__.py
_login clears auth_source_manager only when the current user is unauthenticated.
The source lookup defaults to an empty mapping when auth_source_manager is missing or falsey. The existing logout condition can then run without subscripting None.
The OAuth2 session-handling fix is ready to merge with no identified material risk.

Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue #10733 requires that an authenticated session with auth_source_manager set to None must not crash before_request. Source evidence: the whole-PR diff of web/pgadmin/authenticate/init.py wraps the session['auth_source_manager'] = None assignment in _login() with 'if not current_user.is_authenticated:'. An authenticated user therefore keeps the existing source, and the trigger in the issue no longer occurs. The PR summary and PR description state that the before_request guard in web/pgadmin/init.py now reads (session['auth_source_manager'] or {}).get('current_source'). This protects sessions that an older version already left as None. The diff for web/pgadmin/init.py could not be read in this review, so the guard change rests on the summary and PR text, which agree with each other. The reported reproduction results (200/302 responses, no traceback) are not independently verified here. The issue does not require automated tests, so the absence of new tests is not a failure.

Explanation
The whole PR changes two files. web/pgadmin/authenticate/init.py changes only the _login() reset of auth_source_manager, which is the cause named in #10733. web/pgadmin/init.py changes only the before_request restart guard, which is the crash site named in #10733 (summary: +4/-3, no declaration changes). No unrelated files or behavior appear in the summary. The web/pgadmin/init.py diff could not be read directly, so this verdict relies on the summary's description of that file.

Thanks! Squashed and merged as aa1e20e. I folded in two small review changes: the before_request comment now says a None auth_source_manager comes from a session left by an older version, and there's a regression test in test_oauth2_with_mocking.py that submits the OAuth2 button whilst logged in and checks the session keeps its auth source and /browser/ still loads (it fails without your _login() fix).
