Describe the bug

when the agent is editing files, a popup shows that i am not expecting. the agent should be internal so im not sure what external changes it keeps prompting. not sure if it the agent integrations, the IDE, or a claude propblem.

i did notice sometimes in the console there was a yellow warning about AI buffer something. i thought i screencapped it but i guess not.

Reproduction

many times when the agent is editing, it seems when it is making quick changes to the same file? it's not consistent for every change, but it is often and seems when its being quick. it also keeps working and not wait for me to click the button, so im not sure if it is overwriting or losing progress of its changes.

Expected behavior

not be prompted because an external program is not accessing it (like when i try to delete a file from explorer while the workspace is still open).

Thanks for reporting the issue @tegirvaru . The dialog usually appears when there are some manual edits in an open editor that were not yet saved on disk. But in windows, we have seen it come randomly with just AI edits too.

We have a new beta with a lot of AI related improvements: https://github.com/phcode-beta-testing/beta-drop/releases/tag/phcode-5.5.3-beta-1

Can you check if the beta fixes/reduces the issues? One of the reasons was claude not telling phoenix code that it has done some changes outside of it, but the new releases addresses a lot of those issues but is not yet covering all the cases.

NB: Ignore the windows installer warnings, click more info and run anyway in the UAC dialog that comes up. Our signing certificate renewed and is not yet trusted by Microsoft as its very new with no signed exes in the wild.

yeah, i will check the beta tomorrow 😁. i would love it to show my AI credits balance, so i know how stupid the agent is being. so far haiku is as bad as replit. but at least i can change models 😂. opus was too expensive. i put my money into the phoenix pro because your team is great 👌

Thanks for supporting us @tegirvaru :) We will address these issues in the coming releases.

Do you use API credits or a Claude subscription? The reason we didn't include usage costs is because claude subscription doesn't translate well with the $ usage. But API credits does.

i did the test, that external editing dialog did come up. it did pop up twice which seems to correlate to the console warnings. the new layer feature is really cool. tegir 😁

more console errors, [image: Screenshot (45).png] the agent says it cant access storage during testing. see it's comments in the screen cap. it is trying to test the app by pressing buttons and looking in localStorage to see what the reactions are. it says when it is clicking a button that edits storage, it is getting blocked. something like that. so its tests and error checking keep failing so i have to copy/paste text and storage and describe what is happening when i test it because it is unable to do it itself.
