Requesting 1209:5647 for VRLF Virtual Lightgun, an MIT-licensed virtual HID lightgun driver (https://github.com/dyzt/vrlf-virtual-gun).
It is software-only, so to answer the usual question: the VID/PID is compiled into the driver, which refuses any other ID, and every user installs the same package, so individual users can't request their own PID for it. Games and lightgun tools identify the device by VID/PID, so it needs one stable ID.
Pre-release builds already carry 1209:5647 pending this request. If you'd prefer a different number I'll switch to it.
