logcoordinator: ignore reports from removed nodes (#6731) - #6742
A delayed ChangefeedStates report can recreate a departed node's cached state after handleNodeChange removes it. The stale entry pins the log coordinator's min resolved ts and inflates the resolved ts lag metric.
What is changed and how it works?
Same coordinator fix as #6731: updateChangefeedStates checks sender membership while holding the nodes lock through the changefeed state update. Lock order stays nodes -> changefeedStates, the same as handleNodeChange.
The cherry-pick is not clean because this branch publishes resolved ts metrics from the reportChangefeedMetrics ticker, not per reporting round:
TestUpdateChangefeedStates registers its reporting nodes first.
The new regression test TestResolvedTsMetricsAfterDelayedReportFromRemovedNode calls reportChangefeedMetrics() explicitly before asserting.
Hunks for the reporting-round tests that do not exist on this branch are dropped.
Check List
Tests
Unit test
go test -tags=intest -race ./logservice/coordinator -count=1 passes.
The regression test fails without the fix, the same way as on master: the removed node reappears, resolved ts is 100000 instead of 300000 ms, and lag is 300 instead of 100 seconds.
Questions
Will it cause performance regression or break compatibility?
No protocol or configuration changes. State updates briefly hold the membership mutex while applying each report.
Do you need to update user documentation, design documentation or monitoring documentation?
No.
Release note
Fix an issue where delayed changefeed reports from removed TiCDC nodes could leave stale resolved timestamps in the log coordinator.
Delayed reports from removed nodes no longer restore outdated changefeed status or affect resolved timestamp and lag metrics. These metrics now reflect the live node’s reported timestamp and the configured PD time.
Manual cherry-pick of pingcap#6731 to release-8.5-20260922-v8.5.8.
The coordinator change applies as-is. Tests are adapted because this
branch publishes resolved ts metrics from the reportChangefeedMetrics
ticker instead of per reporting round: the regression test calls
reportChangefeedMetrics explicitly, and hunks for reporting-round tests
that do not exist on this branch are dropped.

The coordinator now checks node membership before applying changefeed-state reports. Tests verify that a delayed report from a removed node does not restore its state or affect the resolved-timestamp gauge and lag. The shared schema guard test adds MaterializedViewShadow to the expected TableInfo fields.

Summary
Membership-checked state updates logservice/coordinator/coordinator.go, logservice/coordinator/coordinator_test.go
The coordinator ignores reports from nodes absent from membership while updating changefeed state. Tests register nodes and verify that a delayed report from a removed node does not affect cached state, the resolved-timestamp gauge, or lag.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The coordinator guard and coordinator tests are within the stated scope. The change in pkg/common/table_info_shared_schema_guard_test.go adds MaterializedViewShadow to an expected TableInfo field contract. This change is unrelated to delayed changefeed reports and the linked issue.

Comment @coderabbitai help to get the list of available commands.
Add optional coverage for node removal that overlaps an accepted report.
The new test removes the node and sends the delayed report in sequence, so the two never overlap. The comment at coordinator_test.go:364 says the test reproduces the race. It does not. Keep TestResolvedTsMetricsAfterDelayedReportFromRemovedNode as the post-removal regression test. Reword that comment to describe what the test checks.
The test would still pass if updateChangefeedStates released c.nodes after the membership check at coordinator.go:229. The removed node is already absent when its report arrives, so the check returns early either way. The membership check itself remains covered. Removing it would restore the removed node's state and fail the NotContains assertion.
Optional: add a test that removes the node while a report is being applied, in the window between the membership check and the state write. Run the removal from a separate goroutine. A synchronous call from inside that locked section blocks on c.nodes, which the same goroutine already holds. Without a synchronization point between the check and the write, the removal may finish before or after the write. Such a test may not reliably fail on a regression. A deterministic version would need a synchronization point in the production code, and the package has none today.
This is optional coverage for behavior that currently works. It does not indicate a production defect.

Backport of pingcap#6461 so the guard test, which checks TiDB master, accepts
the new table-level MaterializedViewShadow field. Test-only change.
ref pingcap#6460
Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
Adding MaterializedViewShadow to the expected fields makes the guard accept it without a compatibility check; the field may affect the shared column schema rather than being only a table-level storage setting.
The guard passes while TiCDC can produce an incorrect shared schema for that table.
This can occur when: A TiDB TableInfo has MaterializedViewShadow set, and that value changes the schema or interpretation of columns used by TiCDC.
