A canonical PCC refresh passes preflight, then creates staging and rollback copies of its generated artifacts. Those files were untracked, so the final producer-currentness check rejected the publisher's own transaction before replacing truth.
Ignore generated JSON and Markdown staging/backup files under output, plus the two supported root-level Markdown compatibility artifacts. Extend the real Git/publication-lock regression with actual staging and backup helpers across these paths; unexpected source files still fail currentness. Publisher transaction handling and producer guards are unchanged.
Validation: 163 producer-preflight and portfolio-truth tests passed on Python 3.12; the expanded preflight suite passes 18 tests. An independent full publication in an isolated Git fixture passed with clean post-publication status and no journal or temporary leftovers. Ruff and git diff --check passed.
