Summary

This PR prepares release v3.7.0.0. It has the version change and the release notes. It has no code change.

How idstack checked the release notes

A first draft of the notes had errors. Four independent reviewers tried to refute each claim in it against the code and the git history. They found 20 claims that were overstated, unsupported or false. One example is "two side-panel buttons have new names". The diff shows five.

The notes were rewritten, and three more reviewers examined the new text. They found 10 more overstated claims. All 30 are corrected.

The reviewers also changed how the notes describe the plugin-path fix. v3.6.0.0 has no checker. So the released problem is that a skill could run the scripts of an old copy of idstack from the plugin cache. A reviewer showed this with claude -p probes of Claude Code 2.1.295.

Verification

Check Result
./test/smoke-test.sh 405/405
python3 test/check-doc-accuracy.py . pass
python3 test/check-evidence-cards.py . pass
python3 test/check-citation-tiers.py . pass
bin/idstack-ste-check on the new CHANGELOG entry, the ROADMAP block and the landing card no problems

The CI mutation job runs the full suite on this PR. The test code did not change.

After this PR merges

  • Tag the merge commit v3.7.0.0 and push the tag. The release workflow checks that VERSION, plugin.json and the CHANGELOG heading agree with the tag. It then runs smoke-test and creates the GitHub release.
  • Run git pull && ./setup in each clone that Claude Code loads idstack from. Until then, that clone runs the 3.6 skills.
  • Run bin/package-extension.sh and upload build/idstack-chrome-extension-v1.2.0.zip to the Chrome Web Store. Check the store listing for the old button names.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Bump VERSION and plugin.json to 3.7.0.0, and add the release notes for
the ASD-STE100 writing standard (#113), the extension 1.2.0 (#114) and
the follow-up fixes (#115, #116) to CHANGELOG.md, ROADMAP.md and the
landing page. README.md and the landing page carry the new version.

Two rounds of independent fact-checking against the code corrected 30
claims in a first draft of the notes before this commit.

Comment thread CHANGELOG.md

## v3.7.0.0 (2026-10-09)

idstack now writes the English text that it shows to a person in the ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical English rules. This includes skill chat, reports, the course dashboard, CLI messages and the Chrome extension. A new script, `bin/idstack-ste-check`, finds some of the rule problems, and each skill runs it on the files that it writes for a person. This release also fixes how skills find idstack's own scripts. Before, a skill could run the scripts of an old copy of idstack. The Chrome extension is now version 1.2.0.

P2 Badge Qualify the checker coverage statement

When /idstack:course-export builds an LMS package, the skill explicitly says that its HTML, XML, and quiz files receive no file check (skills/course-export/SKILL.md.tmpl:149), and this changelog entry later excludes export-package files on line 18. Therefore, saying that every skill runs the checker on the files it writes for people overstates the validation coverage and could cause users to treat unchecked exported text as validated; limit this claim to the specific report, dashboard, and course-content outputs that are actually checked.
