chore: remove CODEOWNERS (invalid owner, never requested reviews) - #43
Its only line is * simplify9/reviewers, which is missing the @. GitHub's CODEOWNERS check reports "Invalid owner" on line 1, so no review has ever been requested through it.
The reviewers team it names was deleted on 2026-11-04 during the org teams cleanup.
Review is still required. The org ruleset "Default branch: PR + team approval" requires an approval from @simplify9/code-reviewers on every PR into main, and this PR does not change that.
Nothing changes except the "Invalid owner" error goes away.
Before merging, note: a push to main runs this repo's publish/deploy workflow, which has no path filter. Merging this PR as-is would publish a new patch version (or redeploy, for SW-Surl-api) with no code change. Squash-merge with [ci skip] in the commit subject to avoid that.
No actionable comments were generated in the recent review.
Summary
What changed: Removed .github/CODEOWNERS. Its only entry named simplify9/reviewers, which the PR description says is invalid and refers to a deleted team. The org ruleset requirement for approval from @simplify9/code-reviewers remains unchanged.
Risk: risk:low.
Security-sensitive areas touched: Review ownership and approval routing only. No runtime security code changed.
Test coverage impact: No executable code changed. Test results were not provided.
Operational concerns: The PR description says pushes to main run publish/deploy without a path filter. It recommends squash-merging with [ci skip] in the commit subject to avoid an unnecessary publish or redeploy. No migration or rollback steps are indicated.
The .github/CODEOWNERS file no longer assigns simplify9/reviewers as code owners.
