Please tell us about yourself (include an email address):
As-salamu alaykum. I'm reaching out on behalf of Zidna Learning, a Muslim spiritual-growth app (Quran reading/listening, Duas and Adhkar, reflections). We'd like to include the full Hisn al-Muslim (Fortress of the Muslim) collection as an in-app Duas and Adhkar feature. Happy to share a contact email privately if preferred -- please let us know how.
Your purpose in using this API:
We want to bundle the Hisn al-Muslim text (Arabic, transliteration, and English translation, with hadith grading/reference) inside the app so it works fully offline. Each dua will show its Arabic text, transliteration, English translation, and reference, with a "Source: Sunnah.com" credit and link on an in-app attribution screen. This is a one-time download per user, not a live API call during normal use -- the app re-syncs periodically to pick up corrections, not on every use.
API rate limits:
- Maximum requests per second: 1
- Maximum requests per day: a few thousand, only during the one-time download/periodic re-sync
Is your use case better served by an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access?
An offline dump of the Hisn al-Muslim collection specifically would be ideal, since we store it locally. API access for a one-time download works too if a dump isn't available.
What languages would you like hadith data in?
Arabic and English.
What programming language will your API client be in?
Dart/Flutter (client) with a Python/Node.js backend proxy.
Note on commercial use:
Zidna is a monetized app. We want to be upfront about that before any data is shared, and are glad to follow whatever terms Sunnah.com sets for that case.
