MSI Prestige 14 Flip AI+ D3MTG: no SoundWire machine driver match, falling back to generic 1-amp SDCA topology #5749
SOF fw: 2.14.1.1 (alsa-sof-firmware 2025.12.2-1, Fedora 43)
OS: Fedora Linux 43
Problem
Internal speakers produce poor quality audio. The kernel reports no SoundWire machine driver match for this hardware and falls back to a generic 1-amp SDCA function topology, which gives no speaker-specific tuning or proper amp initialisation.
Relevant kernel log (journalctl -k)
sof-audio-pci-intel-ptl 0000:00:1f.3: No SoundWire machine driver found for the ACPI-reported configuration:

Codec summary
Link 2: Realtek ALC1320 (mfg 0x025d, part 0x1320) — two instances (stereo speaker amps)
Link 3: Realtek RT0713 (mfg 0x025d, part 0x0713) — headset jack
What I'd expect
The topology sof-ptl-rt713-l3-rt1320-l12.tplg is present on disk and appears to match this hardware (RT713 on link 3, RT1320/ALC1320 on links 1+2). A DMI quirk entry for this board in the SoundWire machine driver should select it.
Same here for the MSI Prestige 16 Flip AI+ C3MTG. It uses the same hardware except a larger chassis. The ALSA card name is Micro_StarInternationalCo.Ltd.-Prestige16FlipAIC3MTG-REV1.0-MS_2622.
I came here because recently it stopped working at all. No audio output (sof-soundwire card is there but the codec is Intel Panther Lake HDMI only) and no audio input at all (no input device shown).
I have absolutely no experience in Linux audio whatsoever, so I have no idea at all how to debug this situation, but I'll provide any info of this hardware if you need it.
Edit: my issue is actually caused by alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf#774, but the poor audio quality issue from this one still stands.
