Add rich text support alongside multi-line

What are you trying to do?

Love this plugin by the way! But would love to see a rich text option for cells, so that links and the usual rich text elements could be added, at the very least links, bold and lists..

On a few recent projects this has been a concern, and having to add raw HTML has been limiting and non-client friendly.

What's your proposed solution?

Maybe this can just use a custom CK instance built specifically for the table field? and switching to would allow a rich text editor to appear on the cell.

I think the massive issue for this is really down to UI, trying to cram an editor into a potentially small space like a table with 4-5 columns already is tricky. But we could certainly leave that up to the developer discretion.

We're not going to write our own WYSIWYG so it'd just opt-in for CKEditor/Vizy/etc plugins if they are installed.

We're just about to release 5.1 which is a big revamp of the input so we'll be able to tackle that shortly.

@engram-design I see, that definitely does make it trickier!

Just a thought, how about some kind of minimised state and then clicking into it opens / inits an editor in an expanded popup? That way the editor could have a min width of 400-500 pxs and not be restricted by the col width.

Turns out i had some time this weekend to implement this in two ways! In 5.1, you'll be able to pick a Rich Text column if CKEditor is installed. You'll be able to pick whether the editor is inline or shown in a modal. A modal is recommended purely because it gives you more room and if you row has a bunch of columns already it'll be a bit crazy going inline.

I did consider the approach you mocked up, but scrolling and accessibility get a bit weird. It's essentially a popup/modal pattern anyway without the accessible parts.
