This PR adds
@vitejs/devtools-agent, an optional integration that gives coding agents access to Vite development activity and recorded Rolldown builds through MCP.It supports two main workflows:
The tools reuse existing inspection data and build readers, with filtering, pagination, bounded code responses, and explicit build-session selection. This lets agents start with an overview and progressively query the evidence needed to investigate a problem.
Now that Devframe provides agent-friendly RPC and MCP support, this implementation builds directly on that foundation. Tools are defined through
defineRpcFunctionwith validated arguments and agent-facing descriptions, exposed through the existing host MCP endpoint, and accessed usingdevframe connect.This supersedes #455, reusing Devframe’s connection and tool-exposure infrastructure while keeping Vite DevTools focused on its domain-specific inspection capabilities.
