Bug Fixes

• BlockAlignmentControl: Hide the control again when none of a block's alignments are available. Paragraph, Heading, List and other blocks that support only wide and full were showing a menu of unavailable options that could not change anything (#83265).
• Inline images in rich text are selected by clicking them again. A block captures a drag that starts on its own image through the dragstart target instead of the pointer-events: none rule that also kept the image from any click (#83370).
• RichText: The edit UI of a format follows the active object when the selection moves from one object straight to another, for example from one inline image to the next, so the popover shows the attributes of that object at its position (#83370).
• FontAppearanceControl: List only the weights inside a variable font's range, reading both ends of the range as whole numbers or as the keywords normal and bold (#83128).
• LinkControl: Only label pages as the front page or blog home. Posts, terms and media are separate tables and can share an id, so an unscoped search could label a term "Front page" (#83082).
• InnerBlocks: Resolve a container's legacy layout markup (inherit: true, or a bare contentSize / wideSize with no type) to a constrained layout for its inner blocks, so they are offered the wide and full alignments. Previously only the container's styles honoured the legacy form, and the inner blocks resolved to the flow layout (#82637).
• Block Patterns, Block Visibility, and Block Lock: Preserve the intended colors of icons converted to strokes. (#82540, #82754)
• Layout: Treat a missing spacing.blockGap setting as no block gap support, as the server does. A theme that does not opt into block gap has the setting stored as null, which the block settings resolve to undefined, so per-block layout styles applied block gap values the front end never renders. An editor that never provides the setting must set it to true to keep rendering block gap values (#82401).
• Block Toolbar: Show the parent block selector for blocks inside patterns and contentOnly locked blocks. It selects the nearest parent shown in List View and the breadcrumb (#82912).
• In-between inserter: Show the inserter between blocks on a wrapped line of a horizontal container, such as the Buttons, Row, Gallery and Navigation blocks (#83276).
• In-between inserter: Resolve the hovered block through the block refs rather than the container's DOM children, so the inserter also appears in lists whose blocks apply their block props to an inner element, such as Social Icons (#83327).
• In HEIC-only upload mode, route files to the HEIC conversion by what they contain rather than by the MIME type the browser infers from their name, so a HEIC photo saved as .jpg or .png is no longer handed to a server-side path that cannot convert it either (#81737).

• Cover: Grow the block with its content in Safari when an aspect ratio is set, instead of clipping the overflow. WebKit locks the box to the ratio where other engines let content expand it (#70152).
• Query Pagination: Remove the editor-only margin: 0 override on the block wrapper so the parent layout's block gap applies in the canvas as it does on the front end (#82399).

Bug Fixes

• generateGlobalStyles: Treat a missing spacing.blockGap setting like a null one, as the server's isset() check does. WordPress stores null for themes that do not opt into block gap, but getSetting returns undefined for it, so the editor considered block gap supported and rendered the global block gap instead of the fallback gap styles the front end renders, such as the Columns block's 2em default (#82401).
