Root Sequence needs a shared place to discuss how people can contribute, challenge decisions, and leave or develop alternatives while preserving privacy and local project authority.

This draft extends commons/README.md with proposed collaboration principles. It keeps criticism distinct from misconduct, repair voluntary, and actual powers limited and reviewable. It asks who bears maintenance and what evidence would prompt changing or abandoning a practice. The root README points to this source; the ecosystem map and Idea Trail replace the earlier unqualified role-power slogan with limited, explicit, reviewable powers.

Review refresh, October 23, 2026 (Pacific): incorporated current main 7c7231b9edc9b1d922fbbfd4a050f924b3823a1c, including merged #41. Added explicit AI-assisted/author-review-pending status and clarified that publishing this proposal leaves existing rules and roles in place; adopting a rule needs an explicit project-local decision. Corrected a sentence that could imply the unmerged organization companion was already established. Shortened the README pointer in the reviewed natural style. The substantive proposed principles otherwise remain unchanged.

Validation: complete four-file diff and source-context review; compared with current root contribution guidance and published organization contribution/stewardship documents; canonical method/seed routes checked; current privacy labels, reviewed introduction/reuse wording, and #41 additions preserved. All 238 reader-document files and scoped whitespace checks pass. The Idea Trail graph/index check and all 11 site checks also pass on the exact current #43 commit. These checks do not validate governance outcomes or complete the author's content decision.

Public companions remain drafts pending publication of this source and their own local review: .github #9, Being Human(e) #6, UCF #9, Discussions #8, and Wiki #13. The new main anchor becomes available only after this PR is published. Private work retains its access boundary.

Publishing this text would publish a proposal for discussion. No institution, governing body, research protocol, role assignment, private-source release, or policy adoption is established. No merge or deployment was performed by the agent.
