fix(net): a fetch keeps its track read while it reads an open group - #5809
Conversation
A fetch answered from the serving copy's cache is no subscription, so the last subscriber leaving parked the logical track and dropped the copy that still fed the open group: the fetch read the cached frames and then waited forever. The fetched group now holds the logical track until it is read. Its track therefore ends with the front's verdict when its route leaves, `Unroutable` rather than `Dropped`. Adds catalog regressions over the in-memory transport: an open catalog group through mid-group route changes (disconnect, withdrawal, a better route, a reconnect) with a viewer staying or the track parked, then fresh, returning, and bursts of short readers; late readers after a route change or a park and resume; a fetch right after the last subscriber leaves; and a seeded churn of subscribers, fetches, and routes that shrinks a failing seed to the ops it needs. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
WalkthroughGroup fetches now carry logical-track state through route discovery and into fetched-group recovery. Completed frame reads clear the recovery handle. New integration tests exercise catalog handover and seeded churn across relay and direct routes. Priority: ➖ Normal Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to

Release logical demand after a cloned frame finishes
When a fetched group is consumed through poll_next_frame, this clone is installed on the returned frame::Consumer; however, frame::Consumer::poll_resumed returns on every successful read_all or terminal read_chunk without clearing its recovery state. If a caller retains that fully consumed frame handle, the cloned logical consumer therefore keeps TrackWeak used indefinitely, preventing the front from parking and retaining the upstream live subscription even though no unread payload remains. Release this logical demand when the frame payload completes while preserving it during partial-frame recovery.

Agreed, reproduced, and fixed in bd61bb5. frame::Consumer::poll_resumed now drops its recovery state once the payload is read (read_idx >= size), matching how group::Consumer drops it on Ok(None); partial-frame recovery is unchanged. This also stops a retained frame from holding a replaced copy's lease. Regression: resume::test::a_read_frame_releases_the_track, which fails without the fix.

A frame handed out from a fetched group cloned the group's recovery state, including the logical track it holds, and kept it after its payload was fully read. A caller retaining the frame kept the track in use, so it never parked. Drop the recovery state once the payload is read, as a group does once it is read to its end. Release logical demand after fetch expiry
When a routed fetch has a max_delay and the caller retains its returned group or frame after the open source stalls, the terminal expiry path leaves this cloned logical inside Recover: group::Consumer::poll_resumed returns early when expired/ended, and frame::Consumer::poll_resumed returns early when expired, before clearing recovery. Demand therefore remains used and keeps the upstream subscription alive indefinitely even though the read has already returned None or Error::Old. The successful-frame cleanup added here does not cover these expiry paths; clear the logical recovery state when expiry terminates the read.

Classify only a route-loss error as a failed reader.
A lite-06 route loss can deliver Error::Unroutable after the 500 ms settle. The current Short branch then reports stuck. The synchronous drain() call does not prevent this because it only reads messages already queued.
Do not treat every Err or a closed channel as an allowed route loss. The reader task also forwards read_frame() errors, and it closes the channel when recv_group() returns Ok(None). Preserve those cases as failures.

Problem
Nothing proved that a catalog reader recovers through reconnect, parked-group resume, and same-epoch route replacement across relays. Writing those regressions turned up a hang: the relay's HTTP fetch subscribes to learn the newest group, drops its subscription, then fetches. If that was the last subscriber, the track parked and dropped the copy still feeding the open group, so the fetch returned the cached frames and then waited forever.
Solution
