quest: plan follow-ups from the 10-24 quest-complete run - #6691
These follow-ups come out of the 2026-10-24 merge run and a triage of the last scheduled Nightly (run 40090959108). Before writing anything I checked the quest tree and the open PRs for overlap.
New:
quest/m0/nightly/ epic, "Nightly passes on main":
Six children:
Claimed fetches wait for credit: drill regression from moq-dev/moq#6409.
Feature shapes in the gate.
qmux fallback closes cleanly.
ts_schedule regression.
Nightly's base in a shallow checkout.
Advisory bumps.
The epic's README holds the remaining work: make multi-step jobs keep going past a failed step, then confirm a scheduled run passes.
quest/m1/test-flakes-2/: five new children, for macOS receive_credit, moq-mux missing sequence, moq-rtsp stall timers, moq-gst pinned replay, and Dart leak RSS.
quest/m0/ci/:
mbx-low-disk: gc evicts a live build's trees, and the Dart check then blames hook_vars.
select-launcher-path: the relative $0 that moq-dev/moq#6256 introduced.
quest/m1/ietf-js-readvertise.md: JS mirrors the Rust readvertisement hold from moq-dev/moq#6530.
quest/m1/c/request-refuse.md: moq-c's free and abort refuse only the readers that are waiting, matching moq-dev/moq#6171.
Updated:
quest/m1/api-audit/claim-request-type.md (PR moq-dev/moq#6496): it now requires announce takeover, and records why and which new callers to move.
Dropped:
The interop "finish go -> *" flake: every cell passes in recent scheduled Interop runs, and moq-dev/moq#6660 changes those lingers anyway.
Deleting moq-net's crate-private dynamic_route test hatch: the quest already keeps it pub(crate).
Clippy -D warnings on the macOS and Windows lanes: not picked.
The track-level PUBLISH_DONE -> PUBLISH race: never reproduced.
Decisions
Nightly is red (12 jobs). How should it be planned?
✅ An m0 epic with one child per cause, plus making jobs keep going past a failed step.
One m0 quest.
An m1 epic.
Should the PR gate also compile and lint benches and examples?
Adds a Nightly-green epic under m0 (six children), five load flakes,
two CI papercuts, the JS readvertisement hold, and moq-c's request
refusal, and parks the claim-request quest behind announce takeover.

Walkthrough
The changes add milestone quest entries and planning documents. Milestone 0 covers CI launcher-path and low-disk issues, plus Nightly workflow goals and follow-ups. Milestone 1 covers JS, C, and claim-request behavior plans, as well as five test-flake investigations. The changes document observed issues, target outcomes, and proposed work; they do not implement those fixes.
Priority: Low
Merge Risk: Minimal · up to eedb9
The plans now state consistent targets for the affected follow-ups. No actionable merge-blocking issue remains in these documentation changes.

The mbx check names how it tells the causes apart, the Dart leak tests
measure native live bytes rather than handles, the macOS reference points
at the test, and the RTSP stall tests require a mocked clock.

Merge pass update: I dequeued 197d85d to fix four CodeRabbit findings in 86e0976, all quest-text tightening with no change to any decision in the body: the mbx check now names how it tells stale hook_vars from an evicted tree, the Dart leak tests measure native live bytes rather than handles, the macOS reference points at the test, and the RTSP stall tests require a mocked clock. Codex reviewed 86e0976 with no findings, every thread is resolved, and quest check --base origin/main passes. Re-enqueued 86e0976.
Dropped from the queue for a conflict with moq-dev/moq#6652, which finished the Go reservation flake. Merged origin/main in eedb9f1, kept the five new test-flakes-2 entries, and dropped the finished one. quest check passes; re-enqueued eedb9f1.
Dropped again for a conflict with moq-dev/moq#6683, which finished the C durations quest. Merged origin/main in c125846, kept the new request-refuse entry under m1/c, and dropped the finished one. quest check passes; re-enqueued c125846.
