Moves two quests out of #390, which the maintainer is holding until rust2 has one moq pin again, so they exist on main and can start:

  • m2/ts-moq-pin [M]: translate moq-net from moq's main. moq dropped moq-wasm in moq-dev/moq#7475, so getrandom and uuid no longer build for wasm32 at moq's main, and the translator's moq pin can't move. feat(ffi): export kio's clock as moq_clock_* #390 waits on this one.
  • m1/ffi-export/recursion-limit [S], Waiting: moq-dev/moq#7032 makes moq-tokio overflow the trait solver's recursion limit on the exporter's nightly, so the exporter's pin can't reach moq's main either.

The text is #390's, with the goal of ts-moq-pin reworded for main, where the exporter's pin has not moved yet. #390 keeps its copies and resolves them when it merges.

Public API: none.

Walkthrough

The changes add two required quests. One documents a recursion-limit check that must pass before the exporter’s moq pin advances. The other documents the translator’s moq pin, wasm32 build constraints after moq-wasm’s removal, and related proposed and unresolved items.

Merge Risk: Low · previous review a834b

The documentation is mergeable with bounded follow-up: clarify that advancing the exporter also advances the translator, and include removal of the obsolete moq-wasm arguments before implementing the pin update.

Remove --package moq-wasm from the translator recipes in the plan.

just ts moq and just ts census pass -- --package moq-wasm to cargo check. After the pin moves past moq-wasm's removal, Cargo rejects that package, and both recipes fail before translation. Add the removal of these arguments to the plan.

The browser's randomness is a platform boundary, so the driver may pick it for a stock
crate, as a wasm32 binary would. Prefer what getrandom and uuid document for wasm32 over a
 stand-in crate.

+`just ts moq` and `just ts census` pass `-- --package moq-wasm` (`ts/justfile`). Remove those

+moq-wasm is absent from moq's workspace.

Clarify the shared moq pin before bumping it.

The plan says to bump "the exporter's moq_rev", but no exporter-specific pin exists in ffi/. The exporter takes its default checkout from the translator's pin. Following the plan as written moves the translator to moq's main too, where its wasm32 build fails.

Suggested clarification

Add this to the plan in quest/m1/ffi-export/recursion-limit.md, replacing line 17:

-Once it passes on moq's `main`, bump the exporter's `moq_rev` and update the config to what
-`just ffi census` then refuses.
+Once it passes on moq's `main`, bump `moq_rev` in `ts/justfile`. The exporter's default
+checkout uses that same pin (`ffi/justfile`, `standin`), so the translator moves with it.
+Do this only once the translator builds at that revision (`quest/m2/ts-moq-pin.md`).
+Then update the config to what `just ffi census` then refuses.
