A project created from the template could not install its
gpuenvironment. Since 0.15,rapids-singlecellon PyPI is an sdist with CUDA extensions: building it needsnvcc, so the install fails with "Failed to find nvcc" on a machine without the CUDA toolkit, GPU nodes included. The prebuilt wheels are published asrapids-singlecell-cu12(0.15.2: manylinux x86_64 and aarch64, cp312 abi3), whoserapidsextra pulls the same cuML/cuPy/cuDF stack.Tested in a project from the template: the lock changes only that package (sdist → wheel), the
gpuenvironment installs, and on an RTX 4090rapids_singlecell0.15.2 runs PCA, neighbors, UMAP and Leiden with the data on the GPU; JAX sees the CUDA device. The template's CI installs only the default environment; the
gpuone (14 GB) is too large to add there.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
