fix(quic)!: reset driver send streams dropped before finish - #5909

quic::driver::SendStream kept quinn's implicit finish on drop, so a writer cancelled mid-stream delivered a truncated stream ending in a clean FIN. moq-net's transport contract asks implementations to reset on drop, moq-tokio's adapter documents a code-0 drop reset, and moq-uring's driver and qmux already reset. A drop before finish() now sends RESET_STREAM with code 0, echoing the peer's code if it sent STOP_SENDING. quic::web::SendStream has the driver reset after its WebTransport header with the mapped code, so the peer can still attribute the reset to the session. WalkthroughDropping an unfinished QUIC send stream now resets it instead of implicitly finishing it. The driver echoes the peer’s stop code when applicable; otherwise, it uses the configured reset offset and code. WebTransport configures a reset at the header offset with code 0. - Line 387: Update the send-stream handling guard to process STOP_SENDING before
checking the finished state: remove self.finished from the early-return
condition, then add a finished-state fallback after stream.stopped() handles the
received reset code. Preserve the existing connection-error and 0-RTT checks,
and ensure finished streams are skipped only after STOP_SENDING has reset them.

Complete stopped futures after drop-triggered resets
When a caller has already polled the 'static future returned by stopped() and then drops this unfinished handle, a peer that simply acknowledges the reset leaves that future pending until the whole connection closes. moq-quic deliberately frees acknowledged resets without emitting StreamEvent::Finished (streams/state.rs lines 443-458 and 792-800), while the driver only wakes and removes State::stopped entries for Finished or peer Stopped events (connection.rs lines 1275-1279). Consequently an await hangs, and canceling the await leaves one map entry per stream on a long-lived connection; the new drop-reset path needs a terminal notification that the future can observe.

#5909 resets a send stream dropped before finish(), so the surviving writer's stream reached its reader as a reset. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Problem
quic::driver::SendStreamkept quinn's implicitfinish()on drop, so a writer cancelled mid-stream delivers a truncated stream ending in a clean FIN, which a relay forwards as complete. moq-net's transport contract says implementations SHOULD reset on drop, and moq-tokio's adapter documents "the backend's default drop behavior (a code-0 reset)", the default #5156 and #5164 relied on. moq-uring's driver and qmux reset; this driver never did. moq-noq, the backend before #5664, also finished on drop. moq-net's writers reset explicitly; direct driver andquic::webusers get the FIN.Approach
finish()sends RESET_STREAM with code 0, as moq-uring does, or echoes the peer's STOP_SENDING code (RFC 9000 section 3.5).quic::web::SendStreamgives the driver its header offset and mapped code, so the drop reset still delivers the WebTransport header and decodes as code 0.stream_stopped_2relied on the implicit finish; it now finishes first.MAX_STREAMSfix, now on main, which quinn'sstream_id_flow_controlneeds once drops reset.dropped_send_stream_resetsanddrop_resets_after_headerfail on main.Impact
quic::driver/quic::webusers; no signature changes.Alternatives
quic::weband the driver would still FIN.Questions
send_stream.rsisn't in feat(quic)!: bound incomplete messages with receive leases #5878; the overlaps aredriver/tests.rsand the Carried changes list (web/send.rsdiffers only because feat(quic)!: bound incomplete messages with receive leases #5878 predates feat(quic)!: report acknowledged send-stream offsets, replacing Checkpoint with offsets #5817). Recommend before: it is small.Follow-ups
